I was born here in Atlanta and have always lived here, but I don't have a Southern Accent. I'm quite proud of that. I love being Southern, but love having no accent just as much.

I agree, I also love my accent, but, I have ran into a few guys say that it's a turn off, I mean men have contacted me and I give them my number, they call and poof, they either hang up or love it, for example, guy called I said Hello and he stated the way I talk is not who he wishes to be with, and I needed to get voice lessons and that he does not wish to ever talk with me again. LOSER. That's ok with me!

My mom is from Texas, I grew up in the south and my first girlfriend was very southern accent ad all. I still revert to me accent form time to time without even doing it and I use the words "you all" all the time.
Do I like southern ladies? Absolutly! but I am an equal oppertunity lover and in all fairness I must say I love all women equally.

I've spent my entire 36 years here trying my best to not pick up the accent. Of course, it hasn't worked entirely. Now, I sound like a combination of Massachusetts, L.A. (CA) and Tennessee.
