My Mom is in the hospital again and might lose her other leg ( Archived) (17)

Hello all. I know you all don't know me too well yet but I thought I might let you guys know what is going on and hopefully you'll extend some prayers.

My mother is in the hospital again and has had a bigger stroke (she has had alot of small ones), so her arteries are clogged. AND her leg (she had her right leg amputated last year) is doing really badly, looking much like the other one did when she lost it. Imagine a piece of red swiss cheese and you've pretty much got it.

Anyways, a bit of background, if you want it:

No, my mother is not diabetic. In fact, no one knows what she has. Almost 30 years ago (A few months after I was born) she became very, very ill with some mystery illness. I don't know very much about that time. Growing up, my mom was always in EXTREME pain. Crying, screaming-- sounding like someone was killing her, and she couldn't help it.

About ten years ago she got a small wound the size of a pencil point on the bottom of her right foot. It grew... and grew... and became about two inches wide, and would never heal. The doctors have tested her for everything from Diabetes to LEPROSY-- and nothing. And yes, her body is just deteriorating from the inside out. She gets wounds that are HUGE and they never heal. The doctors have said "Its kind of like neuropathy but not exactly, and kind of like Fibromyalgia but not exactly either. And we don't know about these wounds."

She caught some infection in the hospital, and that caused her leg to be amputated. BUT when they examined her leg they found SO much of it was GONE inside...... and I think this is what is happenning to her other leg.

Its confusing, but anyway, thats the history.
