I booked a surprise week-end in Paris for my ex-wife and i.I had thought of everything.3 days before we were meant to go,i had to tell her,so she wouldnt commit herself with any appointments in her business.She said she didnt want to go,she didnt like surprises!
So,i cancelled.A couple of days later,she apologised,said she just "had a mood on",which wasnt unusual,so i accepted her apology,but told her,never again would i do anything like that.

For me, anything that conveys my feelings, that my woman is in my thoughts all (most) of the time is romantic.
It need not be very elaborate.
Ever tried at the spur of the moment to shape a spaghetti heart whilst cooking spaghetti (of course) and placing it on the plate?
Try waking up early one Sunday morning and ride out to watch the sun come up over the sea, holding hands letting it all sink in. Or send sweet nothings at least once in a while via sms.
It works for me.
It need not be very elaborate.
