if u remember me...with my thread, im dating n now engaged to a 67 yo, n im 34 yo old now.
i tend not to date younger than my self at the first time, but not sure how old i would go with.
in the end, i just found that the one im comfortable with, and show me how much he care for me as much as i care for him, is the one.

I'm 55, casually dating a 34 yr. old man. We have a great time traveling, dinners, etc. Privately, he's very passionate and affectionate...but I have found he's very reserved in public. I can't help but think he's a bit embarrassed. Because everything else is great, I leave the subject alone. In the past, dates have always been 10-12 years younger... not necessarily my choice, but they're always the one's who initiate. They tell me it's because there's no Drama.

Him being the reserved type could also just be a personality trait that he has...I really wouldn't read to much into it as him being embarrassed to be honest...In a sense, that's how I am...But yes, it is true for the most part, there definitely is alot less drama, and alot more stability & maturity.

It appears that today I am going to run around the forums spreading my half baked theories. So here are some more 
Women who go for older men are after comfort,security and money.
Men go for younger women because as we all know - age does nobody any favours and they want a more light hearted relationship.
Men who go for older women do so on the theory that experience is a good thing to have and that they will not act like immature school girls.
And women who go for younger men do so because they like the idea of being in control in a world that is still run mainly by men. Meaning, they want a toy to play with.
Many people will probably disagree. But I did say it was a theory - i never claimed it to be correct in all cases The REAL question is:
Does it really matter? If two people are happy together are their reasons actually that important?

JSuburbia: Myself, I very rarely date anyone younger. From personal experience, I find that women tend to be quite a bit more immature about a relationship when they are younger. The oldest I have dated is 55 and that was when I was around 22 or 23. We had a blast together but we both knew when it was over, and we parted ways as friends at the time....I just got out of a relationship a few weeks ago with a woman that was 27...What an absolute disaster...So many things wrong there, that I just had to walk away from it because there honestly was nothing I could do to help her or help the relationship any....In general that has been my usual experience with women...Have loads of fun with those that are older than myself, absolute disasters with those that are younger.
You have NOT met the 49 year old I "WAS" running around with..

I look for fun. The youngest has been 35. He was young looking lol. To me he looked 25, tall 6ft 4in., had the boy next door look. He was very sweet. But I can't believe I could ever have a serious relationship with someone so young. And the men my own age...just too old looking. So a nice age for me would be from 45 to 55.

It is not the age gap, I think it is more the gender gap. Remember, women are from Venus and men are from mars. Some women I have met are not even from the milky bloody way. I am sure some women have had the same feeling with blokes.
