ttom500: Here a kidney transplant cost from $60K to a $120K....most often those with out health insurance had med with ac ombination of STATE and Fed medicare. So most elderly that were on medicare had it covered. When they passed Obama care they stripped out the Fed medicare funding.

The states can meet thier share. But they are no longer getting the FED share.

Obamacare has some good sections in it. But in near 2000 page of legislation.....can it not be that some of it very badly drafted?

Is it wrong to correct or repeal bad sections of a health care bill? When people seem to be dieing from it?

Honestly I am amazed how you endure dealing with it. what we see of Obama on TV, and what litterature we can come by telling about him. We like him because he is a democrat, rather I like him because of that. He seems to be into these things seriously. And he seems to know what he is talking about.

I know I would have supported him, running with the flag in the front row. I also know it takes time to change things, and get people to get used to a thought of big changes.

You live in the prettiest country on earth, yet the crimerate and barren living situations are swollowing what is so great.

The gap between rich and poor is so big and so deep, it is going to take a mastermind to change it.

I worry you have him right in front of you.....then again I am only a blonde dumb swede!!!!

Heaven's sake think about it!!!!!

We as a country have no problem with change. It's how fast and how it's done that causes the friction. Small steps done right or one giant leap and to hell with what may be bad just live with it.

We will take the small steps any day.

johnaustin123: Obama Bumps Head on Marine One, Obama Hits Head...

Obama is an American Nightmare. Numbers just out show that unemployment has increased again. The housing market numbers say that 1,000,000 more families will lose their homes this year...the worst housing crises in all of history.

Why does America not like him?

Obama is parading around the world costing US Dollars that we do not have. He has spent more of our money and time on his family vacations than any other President in US history; instead of staying at home and solving America’s problems. Many of his overseas trips could be done by phone or video instead. That's called common sense, which he lacks.

Calamity Jane on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pic...

American Nightmare.

Oh gosh, would you rather have had a realm????? They cost oh high and mighty!!!!

This period of badly high number of unemployment is a Global one.

Tell me, what is your opinion on Obamas proposal when it comes to wellfare. What does he want with this for you. Perhaps the Obama you have in the States is a different one the man we watch and hear talk in our TV's.

What is he saying....just shortly about it.

If you get annoyed watching him travel around with his family. You would really have boiled watching our Kingnuthouse.

silentspring: Okey, you will have to give me a call in case you wake up one morning feeling sick to your tummy.....you may borrow my address!!

Seriously, what are your thoughts about it? Do you worry?

Honestly???

Back in 1995, I had a dang good insurance plan which was 80% covered by my employer at the time.

In June of that year, I was admitted into the hospital due to heart attacks. I was moved from that hospital to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center because the insurance company insisted. The day after I was taken there, I underwent a triple by-pass surgery.
The reason why my insurance insisted on my going to that hospital is because they were owned by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. I can't say anything bad about the insurance company because they covered everything 100%. Too bad they were bought by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I am resigned to the fact that one day, I will die. Nothing I can do about it other than watch my diet and such

leigh2154: Silentspring, The income tax structure in American is "bracketed" based upon income......The higher the income, the higher the bracket...However our "taxing" system is set up in such a way that many people pay little or no tax at all depending on their "itemized deductions (how many and how much)
Our tax filling system is so complicated, many people hire tax professionals or accountants to prepare their yearly tax return.....the amount of tax paid is individual and different for most Americans and can depend more on circumstance than actual income earned.

Excellent point. thumbs up

silentspring: Did not at all look that way to me, when I visited the States in August 2010.

I went to Denver, Santa Fe, Arizona and Utah. I did not see one single "rich" poor, numerous "poor" poor.

We can still be friends though.

I doubt that you'll see many poor in Africa have flat panel tv's, 2 cars, air conditioning, cell phones, etc.

cheers

Now who shifted the debate? But you need to understand how legistlation is written here. President Obama had little to do with in the writing of the health are bill. He did speak on it a great deal.

But according to DEM....it was Senator Kennedy on his death bed that was writing the bill.doh No really it was writtien by the a Reid and Pelosi. It got his President Obama name....yes.

He spoke in public on it over 200 times during his campaign and to the summer of our Obamacare discontent.grin

6 years ago...my father had a triple by pass.....his insurance and other coverage covered the entire bill. He is still here with us today. But I read of kidney patients that are falling thru the cracks of government health care.

Yes the US is a great country.....but you don't enjoy it from 6 foot under.

I do think about it....

silentspring: As a European and admitting not much well read on the American politics, yet fairly aware of what Obama stands for, I have to wonder why so many.....of you....seem to be against him.

Obama, the way I see it, is struggling with well fare. he is heading for the model Europe (while Sweden is heading for the American model, although for years have watched it not working) and they will never get it there.

Is it his health care model that is the nail in the eye....or what?
i can easily see why you might get the impression americans might hate the obama administration but that is a false impression. what youre seeing all the time is the haters on this site venting their nonsense venom in a forum where it does not belong. really? john mccain and sarah palin should be in office then all our problems would disappear ? gee sorry guys, surely the republicans would have started world war 3 by now and that would be ok as long as we dont have health care.
how lucky these people are to be living in a country where you can talk this way about the president in spite of the unbelievable issues he had to deal with coming into office.
i support the president 100%.

Obama is not competent to carry out the duties of The President of The United States of America.

Any organization that has a leader who is not competent will suffer until the incompetent leader is removed and replaced.

Obama needs to be removed and replaced because he is not competent to handle the job.

He's a pompous idiot that thinks he can take the United States Constitution and re'write it, and use it for his own hidden agendas...such as ...hand feeding us to Islam,/Muslims. Tearing down our DOLLAR so that he can have us in the European Union..or One World Order. He is not for America..he has voiced his opinions on this great country in discriminating ways. He has NEVER ONCE shown his loyalty to our military, to God, to Israel..etc.
