THOSE THAT ARE IMMIGRATING....

Be advised, TV in Australia is very much different to what u may be use-to,
In EU country's I have heard, have a variety of programing, differs where ever one happens to live, Hear in Australia it is a little different,

Programing is repeated 4 times a year on average, that means u see the same program every 3 months until the end of the year, then there's a good chance that u will see a few the following year also,
Most programs are 40 years old, with a few trial Australian made, from productions where people are still learning about acting,
The rest is made-up of American stuff, The fonze, I love lucy, etc,
Best way to see what your going to have to put-up with is go on-line & View the list for your self, because most of my friends maybe watch 6-10 programs a week, its a well known standing joke hear, but if your thinking of moving to Australia, count TV out.

Pay -TV is also made-up of huge amount of repeated programs, from Movie, to general stuff, many pay -TV programs are doubled from the 4 main channels the other channels are children /advertising channels,
Main channels on average, it is 4-5 minutes program,..a 3 minute of adds..4-5min Program...a 3min of adds, this is standard all evening, on all Australian TV channels

Pay TV for British Soccer only, no full games on standard TV, & Pay- TV charge you well above the standard charges, because in Australia, British soccer is a luxury.

Hope this will help some people out, before they make the move, because TV is a huge part of life in the UK,
TV now is geared to make u pay, & pay u will....

peace

I love your country as it seems to have so much going for it and it also seems to get so much right! Maybe expats will find that they don't need so much TV once there as you actually have weather that makes you want to outside.

However, thanks for letting us know. thumbs up

You don't seem to like Oz! You've been trying to put us off all day!

As for music...GW McLennan, Men at Work, Kursaal Fliers and this little gem by Midnight Oil:
