venusenvy: Do all Americans just hate each other? In Canada we all make fun of each other, but there isnt hatred like this...I cant wrap my head around it. If your nation is collapsing, wouldnt that be the time to pull together instead of being a nation of haters??
I don't believe that all Americans hate each other VE but I do think sometimes we lose our tolerance levels with one another. Sometimes, its hard to pull together when no one knows exactly what the best course would be to take. JMO...

The American people need to wake up to thier power and realize THEY control the government...The Government works for YOU. Im a child of the 60's I remember very well the revolution that happened at that time and how it changed the course of history and government forever. It seems to me your politicians have forgotten and need to be reminded. I feel that America is a sleeping giant and if you ever awaken to your power again, You will tear your government down and make the 60;s revolution look like a day at the beach....However, nothing will EVER change for the better if you just waste your power turning on one another. Your the most powerful nation on earth...you power doesnt reside in your government...the power resides with all of you...WAKE-UP!!! Dont you know the world is waiting for you??
Look, let me put it this way...Im Canadian so growing up next to the States theres a feeling like you guys are our big brother. Now that I live in Mexico, I see the same thing. You guys have lost perspective on yourselves. You dont even see yourselves the same way your two closest neighbours do. Your sitting there letting the most wonderful, inspirational, way of life thats ever been, swirl down the toilet. You instead turn on one another. I see it in the threads everyday. You have forgotten the inspiration and hope you give to less fortunate nations. Your not the land of freedom and opportunity for nothing. You are the shining hope of the free world. How many people have given everything to come to your country? You've lost perspective, and may well loose your incredible way of life. It feels like peeking under supermans cape only to discover a guy in an inflatable suit. Pull together, dont tear each other apart

I vote for Ccincy, because she would make a better and more knowledgeable President.
Vote for me. I'll fix all the problems by moving everybody 8into trailers and in five years, the debt will be go9ne through hard work, a gun at your head to provide incentive and a steady diet of potatoes.
And I promise I will not use the military to keep everybody in line very much.
After five years, on my re election, I'll consider taking a few brides so that I can have a son to i8nherit our free country. Applications can be submitted now though.

Bush increased the national debt 4,350,546,687,025.37 (8 years) Obama increased the national debt 3,536,898,133,979.30 (2+ years in office)
NOTE: I do understand that there's bleed over from one administration to the next so these are not exact but they're fairly close.
At the rate we're going right now we'll add another 3 trillion during the last 2 years of the Obama Administration. i.e. the debt will be at $16.5 trillion and he would have surpassed President Bush's debt by $2.5 trillion in half the time.

I don't hate everyone. I just have no tolerance for those who have nothing better to do than to attack others.

Of course, just got back from a week of scuba diving in Sechelles but back to the thread.
Those numbers mentioned are not exact and I said as much in the initial posting. The thing is, that while I'm certain there's interest payments and some risidual Bush Administation debts, most of it's from the Obama Administration.
I find it revolting that our Congress is fighting over whether or not they're going to cut $40billion or $80billion from the FY/2011 budget when we need to be cutting a lot more. And yet, we have plenty of funding to get involved in yet another military action that's going to cost us more of what we don't have. The reasoning behind it's pretty lame and now we're hearing that elements from Alquida are leading the resistance. Did we not learn anything from past mistakes?

Most likely never! Then the Guy broke the Law,by not going to Congress before the Action started! Strange Constitutional Scholar who doesn't know that a Go Ahead by the UN isn't enough for him to send Troops into Action anywhere, unless the US has been directly attacked from that Country, and Libya didn't. So under the Warpowers Act he was supposed to ask Congress for permission.

The most effective method of populace oppression is DEBT. I think it foolhardy to ignore this tactic being used in the US.
Al-quida is CIA sponsored. Go figure. They, meaning the nobles, have no intention of taking out daffy duck. (except by accident) If they did, a simple assassination paid under the table to some needy mercenary would have done the trick.
No, they want war, they want DEBT and resource management. It serves their purpose.
And your congress isn't privy to international 'noble/elite' causes, they can only deal with the left overs from protracted wars.

I'm not certain on what the War Powers Act calls for but I do find it odd that Bush did get approval before both Afghanistan and Iraq yet we could not take the time in this case
It'll be interesting to see where this takes us in the near future. Will those who called Bush a war monger, fighting an illegal war provide the same rhetoric for President Obama. I doubt it and I for one won't but I will say that I don't agree with this. As I see it as an eternal issue that Libya needs to settle themselves.
Last time I checked, we were not the world police and a quick look through all the old "Bush" threads will verify that fact..

I don't agree with the DEBT comment as I believe the operative word should be FEAR or at least that's what was claimed during the Bush Administration.
In the end, the DEBT we now have and continue to acquire will ruin us as will these unnecessary military conflicts.
Now we're arming AQ more and the American taxpayer is again flipping the bill. When will we learn?
