Last night there was a segment in the news that email addresses are being hacked. This morning I received an email telling me that my email address is one of the victims.

Yeah, I got an e-mail from my mortgage holder saying the same thing. Damn hackers...
I'm afraid to do anything online anymore, especially banking or purchasing. Internet spies are everywhere I'm willing to bet the government even has spies to watch us on here

And I am willing to bet that most of the "Warning Emails" are just a scam, done to cause panic and mayhem on the www, it is a tiny minority of email addresses that get cracked, and then usually those with very weak passwords. How is it that I have two email address's dating back to the very first available by yahoo and by msn and have never had them hacked? Maybe they have been watched by certain countries , but never tampered with or had the passwords changed. If you use sensible passwords and keep away from dubious websites, then the internet is as safe as going to a cash machine in your local high street, if not more so. IMO

It’s not our personal e-mail accounts that have been hacked but hackers got into the bank of e-mail addresses held by certain companies and now have our e-mail address to which spam can be sent or hackers could try to get more personal information from us and subsequently get our passwords if we aren’t careful.
