Originally Palestine was meant to be a shared homeland. The UN and England screwed it up because the Stern/Irgun/others were terrorists and messed up the dialog. Maybe there's time to right the wrong. I find no glee in conflict. Maybe you and some of your friends still hope to provoke complete transfer (or martyrdom) of the Arab population using the slightest pretext.
Paldi the Revisionist without a Clew! Who slaughtered Jews in Palestine in the Thirties?
Paldi5: I'm very busy which shows I am well loved and in demand. No time to debate you kind sir. We've looked up these facts already numerous times. Everyone had an agenda, the local Palestinian arabs (many of them descended from the Jewish tribes of antiquity, plus Philistines, Cannenites, etc) were mostly clueless and dependant on the surrounding states for "muscle". For the most part, Syria, Jordan and Egyptian armies fought with coordination. Israel was lucky. They stole their state before the impass could be negotiated properly with careful weight given to all parties, including Christians.
Sure good you're not writing Historical Textbooks! They would be Hysterical!
Albertaghost: No, you shuddap. No, you shuddap. No, you shuddap. No, you shuddap. No, you shuddap. Signinhg a treaty, adhering to their borders and asking for peace. Yes, I can see your point, you've been sniffing too many harpists benches. Says the guy who didn't even know Israel didn't have a constitution yet was referring others to read it.
Strange how they gave back land when a peace treaty was signed with Egypt isn't it. No amount of evidence would satisfy you. And you were wrong again, and, as usual.
Paldi5: Shut up. That's old and the Zionists were clearly not dealing in good faith. Read your history. The acceptance of their state was to position themselves optimally to steal the rest and they are.
France screwed up part of the deal too, you are right.
except it was the British Mandate of Palestine,Not French Mandate!
gleneagle: Well what ever way you look at it from an Israeli point of view it is now a failure. The Gaza people will be energised by their ability to survive a five year blockade. They watched as the election victory of Hamas was quashed at the behest of Israel and the United States with the collusion of Fatah. How contraditory of two nations who harp on about the blessings of democracy. If Egypt were a small country I think Israel would sieze a buffer area just like thy did in Lebanon. I think Netanyahoo wants to string out talks of peace until such times as there is enough settlements to make Palestinian statehood impossible. This was Menachim Begin's dream and Bibi is the leader of the same party. Then he will have to settle for the only pragmatic solution which will be a one state solution for all.
gleneagle: Well if you dont give them their own state they will eventually become your citizens. Why even the American Indians who were subjugated have full US citizenship even if their lands have being usurped by settler land grabbers. Ira Hayes an Indian even lifted the flag on Iwo Jima. Perhaps one day a little Jewish boy and a little Muslim girl will walk hand in hand to echo Martin Luthor King's sentiments. Religous fanatasism on both sides is an impediment to a solution. Following the Bible or Koran as a goiding principle will not lead to the promised land for either race.
