I`m Wiccan,Native American Spiritual, partially Buddhist, and Vampiric. I was also baptized by my grandfather who was a Missouri Synod Lutheran preacher who owned 3 churches.
If I had had any say in it, I would`ve said hell no, it`s my choice.
I haven`t read the bible, and don`t intend to, I`d rather read Dracula and some more of Stephen King. But the way I view it is...
In 4th grade, my Communications teacher taught us something very valuable. (she was also my dad`s gf, so I learned a lot hehe)
She told one student, at the front of the class, a secret phrase. Each student in turn had to whisper the same exact phrase. By the time it got to the last student, the phrase was so twisted and far from what it originally been that it was hard to believe it came from the same source. If the bible is gods word, then maybe those who heard it got it all wrong and didn`t bother to ask for corrections lol
If something as complex as a human being or any other creature that has a freewill can "just happen", even though the odds of everything falling into place to make us function and be able to procreate are astronomical, then surely the wisest of men can easily create something with their own hands that can do the same.
Until someone does I will believe there is a God supreme to us who creates us.
theoldestdear: I note Eistein is on the list so I gave up looking at the rest
If Albert Einstein believed in anything he would call a "god," it wasn't the sort of god which religious theists today typically believe in. Einstein explicitly rejected the possible existence of any sort of "personal god" which could care about human existence, would interact with us, or would answer prayers. In fact, Einstein went so far as to argue that belief in such a god was a legacy of humanity's primitive existence when we created such supernatural beings to explain events around us.
We agreed earlier on the thread that there are a number of scientists who should not be there...
prinzze25: good point made, maybe that is why in the bible there is no reference to dinosaurs, the earth being older than 10,000 years, the bible is mans interpretation of 'gods' word but i guess god forgot to tighten up his story, or maybe because u cant write about something we havent discovered yet, science only has one interpretation and that is facts and data
Why do you expect reference to dinosaurs? Does it mention elephants? Giraffes? Cats? Cockroaches? Three are heaps of things it doesn't mention. It only mentions what were of interest to the writers.
