So tonight I'm going to the movies alone like I normaly do, which my friends think I'm weird for doing and don't understand why I can't find a date. So I'm wondering if anyone else does the same? Or am I really just some strange woman who enjoys movies alone. :)

It's like who are you going to laugh with or cry with? Or share popcorn and a soda with? Or get scared with? I mean those are the three primary reasons for seeing a movie. I can't sit alone in a theater and enjoy it.

Maybe if it were "singles night" and EVERYONE went alone! Ono second thought, no, then you would end up with a bunch of weirdos in the dark.

Have done that at some points in my life.

Sometimes when newly single, and especially when friends are really busy with their lives/relationships/work...it's a fun 'event' to go to, and just 'switch off' and relax.

Gotta be something I really want to see, though.

Usually go to the movies with friends these days (also watching DVDs with friends); but if it again got to the point where everyone else was tried up, then yeah, I'd see a movie alone, nothing wrong with that.

With or without friends, I prefer a nearly empty cinema! Gets you some peace and quiet to enjoy the film; and also it's like it's a 'private screening' lol.
cool

Well I would consider going alone to a museum, that would be peaceful and you can go along at your own pace.

I've gone to the beach alone too, that's nice and comforting.

But a movie? I want someone with me.

I would definnitely NOT go to Disney Land alone!

Would anyone go to an amusement park alone?

If I want to do something...I don't think their is anything wrong with going alone...I don't need a date...I go to movies, listen to music, anything I really want to do...especially now...I don't have a ton of friends here...I did it in California too...I even had a boyfriend then...but thats just me..

Just think of all that you miss waiting on someone...

Though, I did love going to the movies with my ex-boyfriend...

Lol Thanks guys. I actually enjoy seeing a movie alone. I hate when people chat all through a movie. Gives me time to relaxe from my crazy life and get away from all the people out there who call my phone all the time. A few hours of silence from the kids and friends is bliss. Man of the Year is a great movie! It was really funny I recomend people go see it :) As for someone sweeping me off my feet. I'm too independent to let a man that far into my life. tongue

When no one wants to see a movie with me, I have no choice but to go alone, even though I'd rather see a film with someone special; I live in Pearland, maybe we can see a movie together some time or go to Starbucks... Be safe & take care/ Later on..

I prefer to watch movies alone - at the theatre and at home.

Movies are a time to escape.

I can't stand going with someone and all they want to do is analyze the dialogue, the plot, the chose of actors/actresses, the subtext....

ITS A MOVIE........

Sheesh

peace

I can't go to a movie alone...it feels weird. It's not bad...it just doesn't feel right. I have no problem watching a movie alone at home...but I still enjoy the movie more with people. I think the person you are with makes the movie. I can watch a movie alone and think this movie is a POS...and yet...I can watch it with a group of good friends having fun, and think it's the greatest movie ever...for me...it's all about the company.

i love going by myself, i love going with others.

that is, as long as they shut the hell up and let me get into the action...if they keep...oh, you know, talking and touching and stuff...they pull me back into this life, and that's NOT why i just paid an arm and a leg.

i like the experience of being enveloped in the scenes...and if i have to hear others talking, i wanna have a rewind button to smack.
