imelin: Chemistry in a relationship is mutual and works both way. If money is such a big issue from the beginning before anything gets started, especially if the man who is making the trip and expect the woman to finance it; he sure sound "cheap" to me. I traveled and no one payed and I didn't ask..I even went twice to Ireland and I went to Macedonia got married and my lovely wife wont even send me the divorce paper and translation....I have spent thousands...I dont want pity...I do wish I could have my divorce papers though..phone bills,,,gifts,Diamonds,,I paid plenty. It did not work out but in the end I think it could have been done with more taste and sincerity. I had a relationship with someone from Norway some years ago. Due to commitments its was easier for her to travel to me each time.
I would never consider inviting someone over and expect her to pay for it.It takes a lot more for a person to do the leg work that it costs in money.
I guess that I am just a mix of old fashioned and modern values?
