Albertaghost: To those who believe Jesus is the Messiah it is wrong but, live and let live. As for the bible itself, read it in whole and stop concentrating on passages - dissecting them and all and just get the general gist of it. It's pretty easy to understand as the overall message is to forgive, don't screw each other over, help those who need it and take Jesus into your heart as he died for your sins so, if you ask him for forgiveness, he can absolve you because of that.
Golly, while I am by no means a devout Christian it never ceases to amaze me the lengths some go to quoting verse after frickin' verse to make an anti Christian point.
I believe Yeshua ben Yosef is the Messiah, yet I don't think for a moment that the Tanakh is wrong. You need to understand the ancient interpretation system to understand how the NT uses the Tanakh quotations and how Yeshua fulfilled those writings. The system is called PaRDeS and is extensively used in the NT:
I am in no way making anti-Christian points, but I do point out where those so-called Christians went wrong who hijacked the ancient teaching about Yeshua and made him into one like their other Pagan gods and developed a theology by incorporating Hellenistic ideas.

I believe you could do yourself and your dates a lot of favors if you just got your nose out of whatever sites you go to and just calm down a bit, take a few children's Sunday school lessons and be happy. As it is, you spend your entire existence it seems trying to agitate things for no reason.
If you don't want to believe the NT then stick with the old and it's archaic worship ceremonies and rules. Me, I like the NT so, while I'm having a beer and burgers on Sunday, you can have fun sacrificing goats on alters dude!

First of all, we are supposed to discuss here biblical ideas, not slandering each other. This is a non-Christian behaviour.
Secondly, I do believe and follow the teaching of the renewed covenant scriptures incorrectly called NT. However, I do not follow it Hellenistic interpretation, and no, I don't need the fairy tales of the Sunday Schools. If you don't like the thread you don't have to participate on it, but belittling the other is not a proper response.
rohaan: (__/) (='.'=) (")_(") I figured it out! Thanks, boban!! kinda corny to do these little cartoons with the punctuation, but a little bit of fun--
Happygolucky4u: Sorry for some reason at the mere mention of the word religion I get sleepy. Don't know why So this might be totally off target because I have not read your lengthly opening post after the word religion but I can answer the title question Yes and he or she just hit my delete button I will come back later and try to read the post without falling asleep. I am serious something about religion for against it don't matter I get sleepy and fall asleep if I don't remove myself from the conversation. I surely cannot be the only one who suffers from this

I concur which is why I did not slander you and kept to biblical ideas.

Incorrectly by you of course. Seems the whole world is wrong and only you see the truth.
And I like this thread otherwise I would not participate in it. If you don't like my posts you are free to pass them by.

You are supposing that I alone represent this doctrine. Incorrect. Thanks to the Internet and the fast sharing of ideas this is the fastest growing religion on earth. There is a huge number of people who are searching for the original roots of the Christian faith because they are unsatisfied with the fairy tales of the Greeks. Some of them stop at rejecting the trinity, others reject other unfounded doctrines like the abrogation of the Torah and voluntarily take up full Torah observance. Others realise that Passover lamb was not a sin sacrifice, but a covenant sacrifice and reject the idea of Jesus' death being a sin sacrifice. I reject every invention of the Paganised Greek church and redevelop everything from ground up based on - not Phariseic, but -Jewish ideas. And surprise, surprise, the renewed covenant scriptures harmonise very well with the Tanakh.

Suppose the Judeo-Christian Doctrine isn't the correct one? Suppose you're believing in the wrong Doctrine? Suppose the True one is one people have hardly head of?

If you read the thread I gave expositions that clearly shows how the Greek church departed from the original teaching. Of course, by utilising Hellenistic ideas you can develop a doctrine they did. If you utilised other ideas you get something else.
However, the first century disciples did not have what we call the NT to develop doctrine from and therefore they worked from the Tanakh. They derived their definitions from the Tanakh.
Christians are often taught that the OT foreshadows the NT and the NT explains the OT, that is, it is impossible to understand the OT without the NT.
Utter nonsense. It is impossible to understand the NT without properly understanding the Tanakh, and you cannot understand it with Hellenistic ideas. You need to utilise Hebraic thought, figuratively you need to become a Jew if you want to understand Jewish writings.
The Hellenised Greek Christians, after they excommunicated the Jewish believers from their Gentile congregations after the Bar Kochba revolt, did not understand these Jewish writings and incorporated Platonism and Pagan ideas into their interpretation.
