No it doesnt, but they are great due to them l didnt have to have a hystorectamy. Very worthwhile checking it out.
Tony, Lookin and Daggy - Faithe's description is correct - women's bodies don't need the same hormones any more as they get to be around 50 (on average) as they are beyond the baby making stage, so the body starts slowing down their production, but in the process, we suffer lots of symptoms - hot flushes, dryness (no, don't ask), depression, mood swings, eg go crazy - sometimes. 
The impact is wide and varied, but yes, it can mean we go a little crazy and cranky and mad and some suffer depression - but it is the hormones causing itand once over it, most go back to being their lovely normal self....
Can take a couple of years, or 10 or more to deal with it.

Toffeapple: So how did you managed the symptoms - or were yours bearable - hot flushes galore, crankiness and insomnia were just too much for met to bear....
I really don't know how I went through those years but I did and I suffered a lot of head aches as well with flushes & cranky god I hated me then. Today it's rare I get a headache I feel great now and I recommend woman to get help to relieve those symptoms why suffer if there is help.
