DUBLINGUY1973: But what purpose would that serve? I mean is there even any point in a presidency if they are not going to do anything except sit in a nice big house and collect a big, fat pension?

It seems to me that there are far too may ex-politicians doing that as it is.

think thats all the job entails anyway..

Not if Sean Gallagher gets in, it won't. I don't think he is motivated by money. Its not like he needs it.

pretty interesting... and, finding myself liking all that sean gallagher said. Micky D too played it well... As much as I dislike McGuinness I think he did a good job and answered the questions well...

Dana!!!!! wonder what odds i can get on her finishing with the least amount of votes?

Sorry for hijacking your thread F&F, I was absolutley livid to read some of the stuff Stanley wrote here. I over-reacted, sorry.

snowlynx: Sean Gallagher has really surprised me. I think he has done so well in the last few days that he might actually have a chance. I also like thee way he has refused to have any election posters (though I hope that was out of principle instead of a stroke).

Gay mitchell looks old and tired, he looks like he doesn't even want to be there, what a disaster (unfortunately I have to vote for him as I'm a right-wing looper).

Is that why the 'blue shirt'?! tongue laugh

I was actually surprised by Gallagher myself... I reckon Michael D. has it though.

scriobhneoir: Maybe but that 'genuinely held belief' comes from a fictional story book written a few thosand years ago. The sooner people stop basing their 'genuinely held beliefs on what other people tell them to think in an outdated book, the better.

I saw a great documentary about said book which discovered that it was based on several other books that were left after a fire in Lebanon. 'Jebus' is apparently mentioned only once in the original. conversing

Just read this thread through ............. !

I saw the interview, i thought that McGuinness and Gallagher came across the best but i would be in no way swayed by what i saw last night......... The Late Late show was not the stage and Ryan Tubirty was not the right man for the job of interviewing them.......... IMO

As for the carry on in this thread......... why do people always revert to personal insults when a argument gets heated on here, it takes away from the person and the point they are trying to get across when they revert to trading insults. I do not always agree with the way Scribs gets his points across but i think he was right last night ........... there was no need for what Stan said. Lads if either of you were to be elected to goverment it would be like Madison Square Garden in the Dail. boxing boxing
