I am not so new here myself, the forums i find are very slow and somewhat boring.

daggyone: They were on 774 Red Simons program a week ago complaining that there were no book stores in Dandenong now. Closest now is in Fountain Gate.
The new premises has been pulling roughly 50% more t/over so book selling is still happening. Having less retailers to compete with has probably helped my t/over. Next to fall will be Dimocks now Angus & Robertson and Borders have gone.

It's such a shame and I know ebooks are partly to blame, but at the same time, new books are outrageously expensive wow

Abagail: I find books look lovely in huge piles... on top of a full bookshelf... I am sticking with that story of 'looking lovely' too.. the alternative is that they look messy... and the story is always in the telling.

I am a book hoarder, hate to get rid of a good book. Got loads of them that I am going to read when I get the time or when I retire wine

Don't have the time to read much at the moment, so I am saving them all up for when I have more 'leisure time' gotta go cartwheel joy

Along with crotcheted rugs, DVDs and music CDs ... books are becoming a consuming interest of mine. The crotcheted rugs are because I am preparing myself for spinsterhood as tragically as possible.

As Scotchy and I are into music, we stock a huge range of DVD's and CD's in the shop.
They are like books though and can all be downloaded now.

Naw, mate. people have the net now to 'read.' Talking with my daughter tonight about the 6 books she fogot to give me last night. Got to talking about where to get rid of the next lot to get rid of. I have tried disposing of books for $1 at work for Royal Flying Doctor Service but slow sales. I have about another 30 sitting around but sales are slow.

serene56: I'm hoping that some people who are new to CS might come on board and join in the forums

My thoughts are that we could do with an injection of fresh ideas and views to stimulate discussion and get the forums moving along a bit.

Hope you agree

Abagail: Serene... I do have to admit that I did get addicted for awhile. I had no idea how much until I sat wondering what I had done with a day once. Fortunately I had a high score on one that reminded me!
