i find tho..on the threads im interested in..i find out a lot about peoples ethos..and find myself drawn to certain people thru their answers and how they deal with opposition and debate...so its all good.

Or maybe they like a good aul moan to let off steam. I just think those kinds of threads are futile though. They don't make you feel any better and don't change anything. People are attracted to different things. Any one paricular person is not going to be everyone's ideal match if there is such a thing. You just have to mark it down to experience and move on i think.

Perhaps they're just another way of making/finding excuses to not meet anyone, or actually date. 
I've read all sorts of reasons as to why some won't go out with another, and most of it is BS, but they believe it.
Not sure if it's funny, or sad, but it does show that they're not really interested in making a connection of any sort, and knowing that is what truly matters in the end.
