my earliest memory is in a bassinette under the hills hoist whilst my mother hung out the washing. It was before I was a year old.

My next very clear memory, I was about 3 and stung by a bee which got onto my thong when walking through clover on the way to a neighbour's house.

confused I am finding that hard to believe you remember when you were a one year old baby dunno

I am lucky to remember last week let alone when I was a kid uncertain

I read somewhere where a survey said most people remember around 5 years old and really that was one of my memory's around 5 years old going to school on my first day and first time at the dentist. dunno Just saying confused can't really rely on my memory to be totally accurate on just how old I was. I was a kid , kids are too busy playing to be wondering about age thingy!! playball cartwheel joy

I questioned the first memory myself....and described the bassinette to my mother. she did not have it anymore after I was walking....at the age of 12 -14 months. I have no memories after that until the bee sting and I know I was 3 because we moved states away from that house and I started school at 4. My father was an Army Colonel so we moved a lot...so we can place memories to where we lived and the neighbours or number of siblings at the time (there are 9 of us)

My memory of dates and times in primary school are less clear as I was at the same school and same house.

Three is the earliest for me too. I recall playing with my brother outside ... I remember he had got into trouble, and I was laughing... which meant I got told off too. My brother was on a tricyle in nappies.

In our kitchen in England, it had big black and white checkerboard floortiles and I remember it was snowing outside.

I would have been under five as that was when we came here australia

I love those checkboard floor tiles.

It's making sense now, Serene... I have always thought you looked English.

Hmm, coincidentally, a standout memory of mine is my father clowning around with me in a pool when I was about eight .. somehow I wound up frantically grabbing at him as I was underwater, in trouble, and he thought I was mucking around uh oh

I've never forgotten that blues

Yes, I was born here. My Grandparents were all from the UK...and I had a lot to do with them as I was growing up.

Remember that I cut my thumb and a boy in preschool giving me a mintie so I would feel better - awwww, that was so nice of him. also falling off the jungle gym arrangement and hurting something! I guess I remember these things because they impacted on me more than general life stuff.

I also remember having an earache at school, guess I was 5 or 6 and looking flushed, cos the teacher told me to take my cardigan off. But not long before or after, I was bitten by ants and I remember that bothering me too but outside in the playground this time.

Memories of not such nice things!

I have read that geniuses tend to have better memories before they were five year old and we other average people don't.....sigh.

Every day off my life,
Yes I can still remember the frustration off not being able too talk as a baby?
Not even being able too move?
I have one of those photographic memories where I just have to think back and I can see the events happening again in my head, I can picture old friends and lost friends faces as if I had just saw them this morning,
People places time I can remember, but if I read a book I forget the first line of the page half way through? The page!
And when I dream its like it is happening now?

My memory keeps me true honest and focused on living a happy life as who wants too relive an unhappy day in their life over and over?

My earliest memory is really of going to the doctors to get stiches in my hand. Must have been 3/4 at the time and a girl was chasing me. Tripped over and spiked a rusty nail. Learnt that you should never run from a girl.

But I do have other memories that have been refreshed by old photos. Seeing them does bring back those 1-2yo memories that I would not recall.
