tomcatwarne: Yes there are still two parties, but the system is such that the majority of people want a democratic government, however much you try to couch this it is a fact. When you think about it it is the only way to vies it. The opposition still has the opportunity to express it's opinion, could you please tell me how else you would have the system work?????
How many Parties are involved in the Decision-Making in the UK?confused
Besides, last Elections in some States, and locally there were four and five different Parties on the Ballot!
Doubt that the US needs any Advice from Europe!laugh rolling on the floor laughing

Besides, isnt the POTUS Obama one Kanobi,Democrat,The Senate, a Democrat Majority, and just the House under Republican Control!

Number of American voting in 2008..............129,090,000 (61.6%)
Number of American voting in 2012..............120,169,000 (57.5%)

I will let you do your own assessment. But fewer voters supported America's democracy in 2012 than in 2008. Maybe it was Sandy.
But I have a feeling it was a cross the country.

With only a 3m vote difference between Obama and Romney.....had Romney tapped into the 9m that did not vote in the 2012.....he would be the next President of the United States.

There is another way to assess it Tom.....that the 9m that did not vote were so disgusted by the Obama administration and broken Washington.....felt so disconnected from his country....they did not want to waste the time to vote.

But I figured since every one said Sandy caused Romney campaign to stall....to give the credit for the lower turn to a natural event.

But give us your correct interpretation here......

Your favor GWB did a better job with Katrina????Come in the open and admit that GWB did a better job.laugh
TTom50: Eight day after the Hurricane Sandy, the FEMA managed response still has 650,000 people without power. NYC, NY and other states are now altering days when people can get gas. A type government gas control.

Some are saying that Sandy is Obama's Katrina. In fact the number of death in both are very close the same. And that two major city were flooded....New Orleans and New York City. They are very similar.

With 650,000 powerless....and the coming of a Northeastern....FEMA shut down offices on Staten Island.

Not everyone in America is happy that Obama won again. We are at a crisis point here. Why would we want 4 more years. I have friends that agree.
Different strokes for different folks.

It doesn't matter to me if the person is black or white, it's the job performance that matters.

I am not debating that. The questoin I raise is if this is "the mandate" that the DEM are claiming. First it was very close in the vote. Secondly, a mandate to me, is when a the electorate is so motivated that they have to speak on the issue(s). The numbers I show....there is no mandate here.

Either those 9m were so happy with the last 4 years....or they could not come to the polls a real possibility in NE.....or they did not support either the Obama vision or Romney vision enough to vote.

Consider this.

Obama in 2012.....61,713,000 votes
Obama in 2008.....69,456,000 votes

Just seems me that that when you have a 7.7m decrease in votes (support) or 11% decrease in your support, claiming a national mandate is not exactly that case.....

One other thing Tom is that the Latino vote was overpowering and unexpected. The fact that so many COULDN'T vote in NY and NJ perhaps the number balanced out. If NY and NJ were able to vote to full capacity who knows if it would have outnumbered the Latino vote.dunno

If anyone running for President only needs 270 votes to be elected then why do they even bother to hold an election?

So that would mean that the other thousands of votes didn't really need to be counted after all. This whole political stuff makes so sense.

Ok Tom, you have nothing to be ashamed of, you put up a good fight, and I respect your point of view even though I don't agree with it. In my opinion Americans should accept what has happened and pull together to get out of the debt crisis.

I think both candidates did what they could . with their party machine, but the result came out Obama.

Romney accepted this with grace, which makes him a big man in the eyes of the world-

Take a leaf out of your leaders book .... you never know what will happen in the futurecheers

That would be the perfect situation wouldn't it Tom....to accept the election with grace.

Perhaps you haven't checked our news today concerning General Petraius. He was asked to resign because of an extra marital affair. That's what they said is the reason. But isn't it a coincidence that Obama knew about the affair months ago but waited to kick the General out until after the election. The General was going to testify before Contress next week on the Benghazi slaughter. It is my belief that they had to avoid that testimony. Hillary Clinton will also testify. I have no doubt that she will lie but the General would never lie and they knew that, so they made him the scapegoat.

When Oliver North testified in the Iran Contra affair he said "My orders came from the top" meaning that President Regan gave the order to sell weapons to the Contras.

A General having an extra marital affair is no risk to the country nor would he have been blackmailed.

Supposedly the FBI did this investigation. The FBI and CIA won't even share toilet paper...there's no way the FBI would investigate a Four Star General just on a tip.

My point is, Obama is a sneak.

HI montemonte let me first say I hope your pain management is becoming more effective. I don't know that sneak is the correct term for this. Sorry I must say we don't get all the American news in Finland. they have their own gatekeepers as well.
I really think I'm gonna jut accept what you say on this, I have no other news to refer to.

My dear Tom, so very, very nice that you replied.

First, let me say, my pain management has been a nightmare. On Oct. 28 I stopped the narcotics that I was taking for pain...just went cold turkey. I didn't know that I was supposed to wean off the meds and I've been going through withdrawal symptoms every since. Actually, today is the first day that I feel better. So now I'm taking over-the-counter pain meds which barely take the edge off pain. I'll be going to the doctor Monday and hopefully get something else for pain that's not a narcotic.

I'll send you a link on what they did to the General's story.hug
