yeah, but i dunno, French and Britain were disusing deployment of aircraft carries to that region not so long ago, seems at the time the French explained they had already tasked there Carrier saying it wouldn't be available until early new year.

In the light of recent history, I'd say that there is a pretty good probability that the US is indeed poised to attack Syria. After all they have been funding, arming, and directing the "rebels" all along. They're not going to abandon the regime change just as it enters its final phase.

Syria, Symria......This is a affair is put together by Putin, Assad and the "A" guy from Iran. This is a all- Russian, Iran and Syria affair. Well add in 50m angry Syrian Sunni to the mix to give it some kick.
Heck consider how Obama led from the back in the Libya affair. It was cruise missiles and Tom cat flights. Heck you would not have even known about the Tom cats, except one has a Tom Cruise Top Gun flame out and ditched in the soft sands of the Libya desert.
Obama led so far from the rear in Libya, he did not even get a good photo opt from it.
So a US battle carrier fleet is deployed off Syria coasts? Big deal. With the sequester, it not likely they have enough JP for launching many aircraft any ways. All our boots are coming home. From Iraq and Afghanistan. Well most of them. A few with Cocrans with deep soles are staying. But even those Karzia does not want in Afghanistan.
Think Obama is crazy enough to commit US boots to Syria? He might be nuts, but he is not that nutty. Not when he is going the big pull back from Iraq and Afghan land.
Now Iran ....that is a different matter. Syria is close to Isreal. If Assad starts a nuclear program, it is close enough for the Isreali to take the roof off the building. By the way did you see...were the SFA have occuppied that facility. They are considering letting the international press into it now. Should be interesting to see pick up close of Assad facility.
Iran? Well I listen to Simon Perez today.President of Israel. He says Isreal needs the US to lead on Iran if goes into a shooting conflict. So some covert operation for Iran are entirely being considered. But they do that all the time.
Did you hear? A generator at the Bueshuer reactor went down last week.......shut the entire nuclear facility down. Now I am not going to say that the US had anything to do with it. It might just be a well made piece of Russian machinery that went bad. But stranger things have happened. You know how those US SEALs are. You saw Charlie Sheen only good movie made in his entire life. (Ok make that two good movies he played Wild thing in the baseball classic Major League). SEALs are smoke in the night.......

The USS Eisenhower, an American aircraft carrier that holds eight fighter bomber squadrons and 8,000 men, arrived at the Syrian coast yesterday in the midst of a heavy storm, indicating US preparation for a potential ground intervention.
It’s only December, but it looks like the Pentagon has all planned out how they’ll spend a good part of 2013. US officials now claim that the Defense Department is busy preparing a military operation in the nation of Mali.
MOSCOW: Russia will rotate at least three naval task forces on an anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden in 2013, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The Russian Navy will continue its anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden and off the Horn of Africa in 2013," a ministry's spokesman said on Monday. "At least three tours-of-duty in the region are scheduled."
According to Jerusalem-based website DEBKAfile, the US has already near Syria at its disposal 10,000 fighting men, 17 warships, 70 fighter-bombers, 10 destroyers and frigates.
Direct US/NATO intervention looms. Deploying attack Patriot missiles in Turkey near Syria’s border comes perilously close to declaring war. Doing so may follow.
Germany agreed to participate. It approved sending 400 troops to the Turkish/Syrian border. Washington, Berlin, and the Netherlands will provide Patriot missiles.
On Tuesday, NATO formerly approved deploying them. Operationally, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) will control them.
