pisceslady7: I detest ironing!!! I can handle the fact that washing has to be done over and over, but at least the machine doesn't need me to stand there and help it
f
I enjoy cooking, always more fun when shared.....either the producing and/or eating.

I need MUCH more storage room as I like everything in its place. I cannot get organised as I don't have the SPACE! Grrrrrr.

So yep...ironing is the work designated by the devil as far as I am concerned and I refuse to buy things that need ironing if there is another option!

IRONING! doh forgot about that one! Hate it, got it to an absoloute minimum. My 20 yo son lives with me and I told him I will iron his 'business' stuff but nothing else.

Can't for the life of me think why people iron tea towels and sheets?? confused

ironing and putting things away

so if it needs ironing it gets ironed when it is about to be worn

All tops, skirts dresses etc get hung up on hangers as they come out of the washing machine and get dried on them and then hung up in the wardrobe. Saves folding them!

I try to fold stuff up as it comes off the line or it gets taken insdie and blushing usually left in a pile until I get sick of it!

I suppose one advantage of living on your own, no one else to complain about the growing piles!laugh

lillyleaf: No matter how I try to change my view of it, I just loathe putting away my clothes. Is it the fact that the coathangers get caught on eachother, the lack of room in the wardrobe, the categorising for easier selection??? A bit of all of the above? I don't know, but I do know I just HATE putting away my clothes!
yeah i HATE my clothes toolaugh

Putting away clothes, ironing clothes, it's all a bore, what if we all just walk around naked? We would be happier people as we will all be laughing at each other plus saving money on having to buy clothes, we could even body paint them on :)

If that doesn't work for you I find hanging up as soon as the cycle finishes (less chances of wrinkles ), then from the line to hangers. If you are in a hard water area use fabric softener but put vinegar once a month instead to keep you machine clean of softener build up.

Works for me, not many things I have to iron using this method, cheers and happy no ironing :)

Hi there lillyleaf wave

I think several baskets is good...but I have some ideas.

Always hang items that belong on coat-hangers ON coathangers to dry. All my shirts and dresses are dried on hangers. (Maybe you could buy a clothes rack where you can then hang them inside when they are dry) They are then easy to find and have far less creases.

Also...shake jeans/trousers before you hang them so they dry with fewer creases. Fold EVERYTHING that does not need hanging as you bring it in neatly.

THEN...make separate piles of clothes....

Gardening clothes.... (no ironing...put away)
Work...in an ironing pile; although most of these will be on hangers by now. Commit to ironing a week's worth in one hit so they are ready and no panic in the morning.
Everyday (shopping etc) in another pile. non-urgent...iron when necessary

This way you never have to rifle through baskets of clothes.

I hope this helps. It has helped me a LOT! Especially as I now buy fewer fabrics that have to be ironed.

Have a great week everyone!

Coming home abit late in winter and having to light the fire to heat water and the house . Woods all wet , full of spiders . The torch is upstairs . The house batteries are nearly flat on account of no sun , the bloody hydro unit is blocked again so the lights are just waiting to cut out . Jezzzzzzzz the gas bottle is nearly out as well . And the washing is now wetter on the line than what it was when it was put there three days ago when the sun last glimmered through the clouds .

Roasts cook well in a CONVECTION WAVE OVEN, tip from robplum even better if you use an oven bag, no mess what so ever, i know of no reason why you wouldn't use an oven bag in your oven either
you can cook a roast in convection microwave but found the one i had very slow.
CONVECTION WAVE OVEN will more or less clean themselves to
what am i talking about, one of these

Most detested domestic chore this must rank pretty high removing snake from your 2 year old daughter

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Ms Guthrie, from Lismore in northern New South Wales, was woken by the hissing of her cat, which had been behaving unusually in the days before the python's appearance. In the darkness she could make out a strange figure in the bed next to her.

Reaching for the light on her mobile phone, she found a snake coiled around the arm of her sleeping two-year-old daughter Zara.
