we don’t have to look any further than Congress to understand that women face nearly identical risks to men serving overseas. Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Il) lost both legs while serving in combat support. Yet like thousands of other women in the military, because of the 1994 ban, that role is not considered combat, which means women like Duckworth, while facing all the risks associated with military service, receive none of the benefits like increased pay and opportunity for promotion.
They do pretty much the same job anyway!!

Not even close,but yes we need to push for more equality in regards to women in the army ie draft and an even ratio of men and women in frontline duty,I think it would be best women only regiments.They do pretty much the same job anyway!!

Yes you are right but the fact you mentioned women are been wounded suggests that they are doing the same job also !!! and for them this is their argument just for that to be recognised

Oh yep theres lots of women who all of a suden got pregnant and all those diferent forms of contraception,according to kevin myers article in the paper a womens army police regiment flatly refused to to go out on foot patrol so the men had to go out instead of them,There starting army court martials now and I dont think cowardice and desertion will be tolerated for much longer.At huge expense I might add.

Ah well... an old boy that served on US carriers told me a few years back, the Chefs used to be a bit queer .. they were the ones taking it for the team back in the day.

I too welcome women being made to go forward although I wouldn't want one anywhere near me if I were there. In fact I think there should be as many women as men on the front lines. I'm sure the Feminists will demand that? But you're right about the physical tests, they could never pass them. Like the vast majority of men they're not built for it. How many women could play on the Irish rugby team? Well that's how many could hack it to get into the units that are going outside the wire, far away from laundry, transport and mail room duty.

Ha ha ha. That's like saying the guy who shines the players boots in the dressing room at Old Trafford does the same job as Wayne Rooney. Although women are paid the same in the military even if they are just folding laundry safe in the base, they don't do anything like the same job.

I disagree with that.
Women would be good in Aviation. Their relatively strong hips and fat asses and thighs (and small brains lol) make their G-Tolerance remarkable. The Russians knew about this years ago.
As for mixed units.... it's a disaster.
Strenght wise and endurance, women do not come close to men. Also the morale problems.... guys will disobey orders and act irrationally when his secret lover is wounded or has her foot blown off. And vice versa.
Women only platoons, is also a disaster. Air defence, Aviation, and support roles. I can't see it working anywhere else TBH.
The thing is... the major powers have not had a real war since WW2. If/when WW3 kicked off, with major powers, US/UK etc losing a ship or two a week in a Naval exhange, there would be no tolerance for mixed crews. There would be no room for flying off preganant women. Babies would have to be forceibly aborted.... perhaps women would be shot for dereliction of duty for getting pregnant in war time. It would be a disaster. Besides during the last war, women served well in factories and munitions plants. That's where they would be needed most.

During the War of Independence in 1948, women were on full combat status and assumed important combat command positions. After the war, they were no longer allowed into combat positions. They continued as trainers and provided a valuable source of training manpower. From the late 1990s onwards, they are moving back into combat positions, including flight school. The first female fighter pilot graduated in 2001. Before women were re-absorbed into combat units, there used to be a womens' corps which provides professional support and backup that was created as a parallel administrative system to the command system. It was disbanded in 2001. In its place there is a female consultant to the chief of staff.
