And every day it just gets worse. Every day we ignore how truly broken this world is, and we tell ourselves it's all going to be okay. But it's not okay. And once you know that, there's no going back. There's no magic in the world... at least not today there isn't...."
Sometimes bad things happen to good people…. what would you do without your "world"?
magic happens ever moment of every day in large and also invisible ways. its a matter of recognising them and appreciating them. thats where life becomes magic.

I don't know if I'll answer your question with the following Bogart, but here is my 2 cents worth: Life isn't fair and in a lot of cases, we can't do anything about it, I also don't believe in karma.
Is there magic? Not as in the fairy tale ones, but there were moments in my life that when I look back, it makes me smile and they are magic to me.

I totally disagree Bogey. Magic and miracles are al around us everyday. We live in a world of infinite possibilities. People are so busy sometimes waiting for that blinding flash of light. In reality miracles are small things that happen all the time.
I cant imagine living in a world with-out miracles or magic, maybe what it takes is simple belief and the eyes to see them with.

Thanks, Venus, our decisions are under our control to the extent we believe… !!
You're right, but the "good things happen to good people" delusion serves as an effective coping mechanism for people that are suffering. Just as it's a good way of cleansing any sense of social responsibility from people that are not.

Are people 'good', or 'bad'?
Are things 'good', or 'bad'.
Perhaps the magic is in the recognition that one person may be both 'good' and 'bad'...and we can make 'good' things out of 'bad' things, or 'bad' things out of 'good'.

Queen Victoria's era lives on in some peoples mind's, would you be a puritan going to America?

I'd say we're much more Edwardian than Victorian.
But seen as the Puritans were a groups of zealots who felt that the British establishment was too Liberal and open to alien and subversive views, then my answer would have to be yes.
There´s magic in viewing the colour combination in a rainbow There´s magic looking into the eyes of someone beloved There´s magic meeting old friends from that distant "ago" There´s magic touching your soul when you are loved.

very true....different backgrounds, and not knowing which moral system we value...might have influence also..
Dang Bogart...watching what is unfolding in Boston right now really got me thinking about your thread my brother...seems like we all need to do what we can to make this a better world...
Bogart_1960: I dont think you read the post; it has nothing to do with religion : the question "is Sometimes bad things happen to good people…. what would you do without your "world"?"
or , to clarify, How behavior originates from the notion of human nature, or more specifically, that behavior is largely caused by someone's immediate environment. What is human nature, and does it exist?
Ah misunderstood in my own lifetime ;-) Bogart u always give me an F for my responses. Perhaps we are on different tangents and I will not reply as you expect? One to ponder
