check_mate: They forgot WC's cigar
No smoking on bank notes . In Finland now supermarkets and shops are not allowed to put the photo of the packet of cigarettes on the vending machines, instead each brand has to be allocated a number, which you have to ask the cashier for, political correctness gone mad!!!!!

Its got nothing to do with political correctness, Tom.
If cigarettes are not advertised, or the packaging displayed in any way it reduces knowledge of what to ask for and in so doing cuts down the number of young people buying for the first time.

It's a double-standard more than anyting else.
Why isn't obesity - which is more harmful to the individual and the society - met with the same disdain and shame from the establishment?
Why? Because there are more lazy and sedentary people around than there are smokers.

It is a direct consequence of the Finnish laws against any form of advertising or promotion of the poisonous weed. If this includes not persuading young people to smoke, all to the good.
You can imagine the confusion when, at the checkout dispenser, suddenly customers were presented with a list of numbers. The cashier had to look up the corresponding number for the brand in order for the customer to press the right button.
This is common European law now. Taking political correctness to it's extremes.
tomcatwarne: Yes I can see that from your profile photo pose, typically sedentary
Oh that's just a carefully constructed self-image. For a person like me to come across as a relaxed man it requires all my concentration, cunning and skill.
