8 inches of snow here. Ice underneath it.We had freezing rain accompanied by sleet and thunder and lightening and the snow, and then more freezing rain and sleet. Then more snow. Had lots of sun yesterday, but it made for plenty more ice this morning. It is about 30 degrees right now. Roads are treacherous. Traffic pretty much at a standstill, or very very slow. I am fixing to get out in it. I have to work today.
My son lives 2 hours from me, and where he is at, it is 14 inches deep and more ice. It was 9 degrees last night. When it is cold here, it is very cold. A wet cold. Brrrrr.

i HATE you...they promised us snow and sleet...and it rained like all hell was breaking loose...but the wet came through before it was cold enough for frozen precipitation.

We got lucky, was calling for snow but ended up going north..Instead we got the fierce winds up to 53mph and rain.

No, I'm not being sarcastic. I've spent enough time in N. Dakota & Alaska to know that it's not any fun being snowed in or trying to get around when the roads are bad.
The short days and long periods of darkness that comes with winter isn't any fun either. Hope it gets a little less gloomy and depressing there.
