I very rarely wear make-up but on the rare occasions that I do I admit that it does enhance my beauty. Not trying to sound vain or pretend that I don't wear it.............simply saying that when used properly it enhances any woman's beauty.

Neither deceive or pretend are applicable in the case of a woman wearing make-up in her daily life. It's about doing it for herself, to enhance her appearance for herself. Everyone can see when make-up is being worn - it doesn't deceive anyone and there is no harm or malice in it.

My boyfriend has seen me with my makeup on and when it's off so I'm deceiving no one.

Since I don't have anyone to put on makeup for, I do it for myself. If I feel good about myself, I think that reflects on my interaction with others (in a good way)

And I agree in the context of a relationship. Can't imagine trying to hide my face from my partner by using make-up. I even agree with your views on the lack of sincerity and truth in society...but there are for more effective fronts to combat this than waging a war on make-up.
