Really cool thread and again I am happy you moved Being able to live your life takes a deep understanding of where you are geographicaly, situationaly, mentaly, ect. I will say that you cant be happy unless you are home. Home is where you want to be.
lifeisadream: Are you living the life you do want to live?
This is an excellent question. I believe I am, but what if I could experience an alternative life, for a short period? Would I then want that, instead? For example, friends of friends worked hard and saved for ten years, I mean, they ate top ramen and walked or biked, clipped coupons, etc...so they could move to a tropical state, afford buying the house there, etc...They really put their heart and soul into it, and got exactly what they planned. Guess what? They were miserable, and moved back, at a loss, mind you. Things aren't always what they seem on the post cards. So, my advice, is, if you are doing reasonably well, like where you live, have a nice home and enough, don't envy something else because you may just get it and be jinxed in the end. True story.

I have a feeling that you're one of those rare types who can make yourself welcome and happy wherever you go--if that's so, then Quality Of Life is always a constant, so, no worries, mate...

What a lovely thing to say, thank you. I still hanker for my little tropical island of balmy, fragrant evening breezes, white sands and turquoise seas. One day...

AgentAjax: I never wanted to live one at all but I had no say in it.
I do remember my saying that to my parents when I was a teenager.
justjim63: Apart from not having a nice lady to share it with my life is pretty good, I've a lot to be thankful for and it could be so much worse. I live in freedom, I have food, water, a roof over my head, good friends and enough money to live comfortably for the rest of my life, so I guess I am living the life I want, well almost.
7/8 yes 1/8 no
or is it the other way around?
rebel2: Hello Life I think on the whole the answer has to be "yes". Fortuenetly i dont have any worries or health concerns,so that has to be a major plus. I am not saying that this is where i want to remain in my life, because i get bored easily,so the challenge is always to find something to "entertain" me.
Hi Rebel That should be not difficult to find -something- while finding "someone" might be.
tomcatwarne: I think it's good overall. some bad spots but everyone has those. I travel wherever and whenever I want, no money problems. a number of good fiends over the world, the type of friend who would give me a couch for a couple of days if I was stuck. Good health, I'm not complaining
jac379: I've had a lot of changes over the last six months, some by choice, some not.
I'm going in a good direction, though. I'm keeping my head above water and mostly enjoying the swim.
If I'm doing that, then I'm living a privileged life.
jono7: well said jac... all i got to add is 'ditto'.
Kaybee50: May I add my 'ditto' as well, jac and jono?
A privileged life that is the result of a personal effort in most part I would think.

StillOfTheNight: What life?
We have always been in a culture where more is more and suddenly we are in a culture where less is a better quality of life. A pretty revolutionary idea.
lifeisadream: Are those “The goals” that you really want to get?
I have being thinking about the Quality of my life and I have to make a few important changes.
Currently I am helping one of my brothers in one of his business -a little one- it is exhausting and risky because of the high crime here. The hard work is not a problem the risks are.
So, I have decided to stop helping my brother and either he takes care of his business or sell it. I have a dead line for it.
Another change that I just made was moving to another place. It is lovely, a great view -a gothic building- and I can see the moon and the stars every night from my bed.
Interesting Topic ..:), I think you are making some good changes Life is...and should be a Balance at times, in that a good balance Certainly what im doing is not a *dream* job, but it does allow me to do ..like travelling for instance in my Off season,..but on the other hand, it IS , physical work, and i can come home physical exhausted which you ask yourself at times is it worth all that,....it's also not something i can do forever, so i will have to find someone mre...sedate...eventually..lol You stil have to be able to afford to move..afford to work within boundaries, sometimes dreams, are not really realistic, that is life, but im not gonna end up working for just works sake, then you could die the next day...people who are in jobs that they Love, and it's a dream to go to work everyday are lucky....It's great you can see the moon and the stars now !!!!

Alternative life? That could be intresting but why not have it as the real one Rohan?
michael63ca: Well yes and no. Great kids, Great career, just a little too damn far away from someone I'd like to get know better.
Would you meet in the middle? Just kidding.
Sometimes I think that we look for "that one" far away because we might be scared of starting a new relationship and in that way we are safe because we might not find it.
bodleing2: Since I stopped my mind dwelling in the past, or even projecting into the future, life is good...most of the time.
And for the I guess.

A good balance should be in place for a life to live Skippyguy although it is not always the case.
Why do you have a name that sounds like the peanutbutter brand in the USA? and we do find it here also.
Bspoken4: Mine could be healthier... In the new year, need to join a gym... Play league golf again - out of it 4 years Will be a happier man then!
