jono7: Hmmmmm... moved out at 16...worked ever since... got some street smarts, earned them the hard way...
also have 5 degrees single parent and worked full time while getting 3 of them. part time work and scholarships for two.
i don't put a lot of importance on who has what education or from where as long as they have been self educating...and are continuing to do so with open mind and open heart...

A wonderful example of being able to be all three!
Ccincy: They are supposed to be educated people and are authorities on everything under the sun but the simple things they can do. How come know it alls can't do it all.
Indeed...
Another interesting factor to throw into the mix is people's appearances: You can never judge someone's level of education by their appearance. I have been guilty of "profiling" as much as anyone else, and it can be very surprising how the least-informed looking character can be the most interesting.
I dont know why if we have children we will try to make them as much education they can do if they dont we will get angry at them. we will never let them see the bad side of world i mean bad ppl. education is also important may be they ppl dont have much cs but still they put their life to make all ppl life easy by doing some new research. nobody can be perfect and they r also not. they have family life and fun in their life. I respect them. but what i said before it was true feeling what i wanted to say

Brigantia: The most stupidist people I have ever met spent WAAYYY too long in university... lol
OMW, you're right! I spent 10 years of my life at Damelin SA... as a Lecturer.. Jokes aside... While the ideal mix may be "School of Life, Street Smart" and a formal education - let us not forget we are now in the age of constant learning. That is, if you are still in formal employment - to remain there and be at the top, one has to constantly upgrade one's skills. You have to be at a level whereby you can out think & out smart newer recruits coming into the company, possibly candidates exiting University with degrees & diplomas, fresh & eager to prove their worth.

I've found that too. It's like seeing someone shopping in a store with ragged jeans on but they may just well be a very rich person for all we know.
You never really know about someone inregards to their outside appearance.

Oh, I agree completely. It is frightening how quickly we can become behind in technology especially and constant re-education is really essential these days to keep ahead of the game.
There's a huge difference between knowledge and awareness, between, information and awareness, even between knowing and awareness. To become aware is to live...and to live every minute in awareness is to live a life of true fulfillment.
Awareness doesn't arise out of education or knowledge...it's a state of being.

I always enjoyed the phrase "All horn and no driveshaft" as well...

spot on G! i'm lucky to have a partner with not just more knowledge, but much more wisdom and awareness than me....and a lot of patience as well!
my experience and education have brought me to a pretty good place....but i am very grateful to have a partner that guides me to become more aware so that i really do experience my life and be more present.
Hi Brigantia, interesting topic. I do like someone intelligent and practical, my exes were self-employed, working with their hands and quite smart. I also know some intelligent, highly impractical people.
You don't have to educated to be intelligent, but at a certain level you have to be intelligent to get a good education.
Yes, one of my friends is highly intelligent, huge heart, completely naive and I think some people do take advantage of that.
