tonyxf: Yes darlin have to prepare trains test brakes check every brake block before they drive not to mention the stress when they collect someone which happens quite often.
And of course the visual check, ensuring the windscreen is clean, checking for faults and setting up PIDs. However, they do not as rule have to deal with the public much.

Lookin4missright: Sorry was bunny hopping in between sites........
Right Obsy (i think) Guess i should've said feral adults as well. Many moons ago when i lived in a suburb before the one i'm in now, i used to catch the train to work. Everytime the theiving bar studs knocked off the copper it would put a stop to the trains.

So many of us crammed onto buses and me being the gentleman that i am i always gave up my seat for the elderly

Apart from getting told off from boss for being late everytime theives took copper i also had sore feet/legs from standing up and bouncing around in the not so comfy buses back then. When the local paper came out after thefts it was said "young offenders" so i took it as kids .... suppose could've been young men/women .... sorry about that

No you got me wrong. I meant that you weren't around to stir up Abbie, so I thought I better do it.
What are these other sites anyway, this place and the pipple here NEED stirring up a bit - getting too quiet!

Not as much as other staff but when they do they on their own.

Train drivers are but a small part of the public transport system. But on the one occasion the public does step infront of the train, it is major breakdown for them.

Rail lines are buckling during the heatwaves because most tracks are now seamlessly welded to stop the clickity clack that the newbies living near the railway network object to.

In response to: ........ employment been with the same employer?
Mine has been 15years on 12/1/14

It has been a hard slog mostly with a lot of hours, but now(tomorrow)will have 3mths paid holidays in my pocket for a rainy day

Besides lookin4missright this has been my only goal in later life, to reach....15yrs at work...

Now that will end tomozz i'll have to find another goal
What are/where your goals in life

My goal in life is to take it one day at a time. To always enjoy the present because life has a way of dealing some unlucky cards. I aim to be the best mom, friend, companion, auntie, overall the best person I can be.grin

Here in Australia, we do manage to get 3 months Long Service Leave after 10 years with one employer. At 20 years, we get another 3 months. Then we get those 3 months every 5 years thereafter.

I quit working for the same employer just after the 20 year mark.

Some times we do have to make some changes in our personal lives to enable us to get away from the "one day at a time" lifestyle.

I have always tried the best that I can do ..,, OK, I may have screwed up a few things (okay, possibly more than a few) but I have always tried to the best of my ability.

The longest I've been with an employer is 12 years with only 3 weeks maximum paid vacation time. I like my job and my employer so I consider myself lucky.

Taking it one day at a time suits me well. Don't get me wrong, I have planned for the future.

You are not the only who has screwed up. Of course I have too. We are not perfect human beings, we can only strive for that.bouquet
