I have a "relationship" going on in Ireland. It's in the beginning stages, so can't say how it turned out yet.

I've been in an online thing for a year now, and we have yet to meet. We chat and skype, and he has offered to mail me gifts, but I declined and just asked for a letter and some photos instead. I sent him chocolate bars for Christmas since that is what he likes.

I think it could only work online short-term, you have to meet in real life before too long.
Start saving for a holiday in the other country as soon as you start chatting
And then somebody has to move permanently after that!

I am used to moving around the world, and met a Finnish girls in Cyprus where she was on holiday and I was living. She invited me to Finland for a holiday, as it happened I had to move to Finland for my job.
That was five years ago, I have now finished my tour here, and am returning to England for a while. She has business and property interests in Finland to sort out then we are meeting in Cyprus. Don't be afraid to move around the world, but do your research on your destination country well. And plan it out.

Im originally from Latinamerica and He's from Europe.
One year as 'friends'
Two years as in a LDR
We met one year ago and got married.
Now we live together in Europe.
I had a nice carreer going on , a nice life with my daughter and stuff and so I left everything to be with him.
It was all worth.
We are happily married.

I once thought about it seriously but I got so scared and nervous that I kept having toilet accidents just thinking about it and I had to go to the doctor. He diagnosed me as being a naturally incontinent type of person.

I have had 2 long distance relationships here in Australia, one lived 3,500 kms away and we saw each other once a month because of his job. Sadly ended that, 2nd one was only 2 hrs away but as he had a rural property that was practically 24/7 that became too hard. I felt in both cases I 'had someone' but at the same time I was spending a lot of time alone?
So I would be reluctant to invest a lot of time and emotionally into a cross-continent relationship. Unless he happened to be getting a transfer to Oz!! Might consider it.
But each to his own
