Hi Mr Lookin, you can whinge about your fence if you like...
I mean, you cant if all the fences in the whole city are blown over, but you can if it is only your own...
lordy, that show was quite tame really... I was expecting a lot worse, and I have been moved and emotional a lot more from people telling their stories on fb cyclone tracy survivors page..
But, I am glad it is coming to an end.. too many memories stirred up, for so very many people.. and the story was given a fairly big indigenous slant ... which if you rightly remember then, the era not being politically correct, non of that I had heard before..
except the part, that if the animals disappear,,, then something is brewing..
The bits that were a sore point back then, the shooting of the dogs, shooting them right there and then in front of the family and the kids... shocking stuff..
The story of Tiger the Mayor, as told by Dr Ella Stack, may have been true, but the rumour back then, was that he was drunk and passed out in his bed... I am wondering if the reporters threw that in just to cover themselves.. Umm...
I am glad they mentioned the Hippies who were living on the beach.. I hope those souls survived, because those tree houses would not have.
Anyway, I am slowly scanning in lots of photos, to keep on a hard drive, and after that, I am forgetting..

One the things i notice during the Tracy program was the inflated ego's of the general, the blokes been sprayed so whitlem didn't smell there sweat, the dogs been shot to.
Also lady doctor said mayor was sick as a dog, in other (which is pretty common practice) was pissed as a chock during the cyclone.
Main reason i took these two pictures the other day arises from having watched what the Ants are doing for many many years.
Is the only Meat Ants building doing this that I've seen, others who also watch what the Ants are doing around here (some farmers do) are also watching to see what turns up (most likely we think heavy rain)

Yes, that was shocking, poor fella must have found it offensive to smell those people who lived without any water.. I guess him being dead now, I suppose they can say that now...
Stretton was another, came in all gung ho.. and decided that he would do it his way... well guess what, he found so much resistance that he took off earlish in the piece, and proclaimed that Darwin must be Dry .. no drinking for New Years... pppffftttt.. That never happened... He was told in no uncertain terms... what was he thinking...
But fortunately Gough had been overseas, and the acting PM Dr J F Cairns and his wife, they were there, and he was a sensible and kind man...

No I have assigned "My Set 1" to the Art mode, use it all the time but is my configuration with among other, 800 ISO set to that camera mode.

The lavenders have had a hair cut, but not all of them, slowly getting thru the 30 odd I have, and getting rid of all the holly hocks..
