Hi ah Robp... yes, it was a bloody mess... all of Darwin was... I have lots of slides which take a bit to scan up..

and of course, being that this year is 40 yr anniversary of Cyclone Tracy... there are some touching stories on fb.. and I am trying to contribute with photos...

The ABC news has run some grand stories, and last Sunday night, I listened to the church service in Darwin's Christ church... Its pretty weird after so many years... but many people have really good stories...

Lookin4missright: A bit like one of my first times ... It was amongst a heap of rocks where we used to go on hols with boat and caravan etc... Anyway being new to (you know) and mMUCH fitter back then i looked up to the sky too

It was when her grandmother sprung us, that i was in so much pain running through the paddock with no clothes and getting all them little round prickle things in my feet

I could'nt waterski for a week

Don't even want to bore you with, why i could'nt sit either <----
Did you rebuild Mezz or move on?

Seems you got sprung... laugh

Yes, we can laugh about all things now... and really get a kick of some of the things we did... grin

Just to say, I never did rebuild there... but I never left either, I was pregnant, and I needed a working loo... so I lived at my work, I left Darwin in July 1975 to have a baby, as I am sure that work would not have wanted a baby there... and suffered the Canberra cold... bbbburrrr... it was awfully cold... I was not used to being cold... sigh
By and by, I did not like Canberra much, so I came back to SA... and stayed here... I must admit... I left a part of my heart in Darwin,

but as I look at google maps, and look to see how it is grown, and rebuilt, it does not look at all like the Darwin I remember.
