felixis99: If you could visit another country, bit just as a tourist but to live and maybe work for awhile, where would it be?
Would you choose the USA? Why or why not? And then where would you choose?
I can think of a few where I would like to do something like that.
i lived and worked in Ohio, then Kentucky, for a few years. i also lived in Boulder, Colorado prior to that. i would high recommend any of these places to live and work.
the generosity of spirit in the midwest is fabulous!! (and appreciated) i have traveled a bit, throughout Europe several times, Nepal, a few other places..(Scotland and Germany few times, and several months)even lived in Sitges....i would of enjoyed staying and living in any of them.
i come from Vancouver where many cultures meet and it creates 'tolerance' for differences...but i think living/working in other countries creates 'appreciation' for the differences.
felixis99: OOO yes to see the northern lights! I'd love to go to the Middle East someday, Morroco. I would be afraid to go just now though.
i've been to morroco...it's one of the few places i didn't like..
like anywhere, it had it's good points, but we had to actually hire a bodyguard to keep us safe...(and that was years and years ago). i did enjoy shopping in the kasbah, the food. there were many very nice folks, but i want to live/vacation...where i feel safe.
rider4u: Yes the prairies are the biggest bore in Canada, once you hit Winipeg going west it flattens out unti you hit the foot hills in Alberta...that's most of Manitoba, all of Saskatchewan and two thirds of Alberta But you are right about BC
i think it was 2i said once in a forum...and it summed it up...
she was thankful there was a hole in the floor of the car as that provided something to look through....
(something to that effect...maybe she will see this and tell it first hand...)

I lived and worked in Canada when I was younger. I'm quite happy in my own country, but I can think of a neighbour country. I don't think I'd choose USA to live in, I like Canada a lot better!

felixis99: that is so funny sounding here because the further north the cooler here. Hot weather is OK as long as a beach is nearby! I have heard great things about the beaches in Australia, My son was there recently.
Yeah, the beaches are very cool, particularly along the Queensland coast.
Our own eastern coach beaches are pretty wonderful too, less populated.
Just a stone's throw from Sydney....3 hour flight.
jono7: British Columbia has several climates...within hours of Vancouver you can be up the mountains in the snow, in the interior where there's desert, by the beach, on a lake, or in the rain forest....yada yada yada...
in Vancouver itself, there are many cultures....little India, Commercial Drive Italian section, Kitsilano Greek area, Chinatown, Japan town, many more....soooo many cultures...we really are very spoiled with the variety here and the temperate climate.
i think you would like it, Felix. BC and Quebec have some similarities.
Ontario has some very sweet spots as well.
but having driven across the country a few times...i could leave out the middle...
those big prairie potholes in your middle and ours, make for some great habitat for birdwatching though I love the way the grasses from the prairie move in a small breeze and colors they turn at the sunset :)

ooohhh... i hear ya....
but i'm good for a couple hours of bird watching...not days on end...
if you ever make it out here, lots of bird watching on the coast. some highlights include the eagle run at Brackendale (hundreds of eagles sitting in the trees here at the end of the salmon run) or Burns Bog which has a really interesting eco system of its own.

Your midwest is much the same as ours but in South Dakota you have the Badlands where as you drive across the prairie the ground gives way to an area that is devoid of vegetation and the rock strata is multi coloured (I know I should use "colored" as it is an American attraction). It is quite a spectacular phenomenon. We have a smaller one in Albert (Drumheller).

Hiya Jo I see this. That old Flintstone car was a blessing on that trip out west for sure. If it weren't for those oil digger thingies bobbing up and down in the distance and the excitement of pavement under my feet passing at 80 mph, I would have gone stir crazy.
