Double profiles.
Someone you already know maybe from another profile.
Some chancer on the forum.
Or someone who just doesn't like the look of himself.
Already have a wife/GF.
Same reasons for the women BTW.
I have a photo up and did only chat with people who had one up themselves. There are very few with valid reasons and they can send one via ecard, otherwise it's mainly other posters with double profiles, someone attached or butt ugly. 
I had it that someone send an email and straight away a photo via ecard, otherwise for me it was no pic, no reply.

I had a picture up when I first joined here..I have changed it for a less personal one for the moment but I have stated I am very happy to send an ecard with my photo.

So not always an underhand reason for no pic..and maybe chatting a bit first without seeing a pic could stop us making a judgement on someone based only on their looks?

i cant understand why someone interested in chatting and meeting up wouldnt show a pic...unless they have every intention of remaining anon and never meeting up.

really is no need for that kind of reply tbh.
it was just a question to see what others thought . its not a criticism of people with no picture up .
im pretty sure alot of us have an "actual life" as you put it

It could be all of the above posts, OR maybe some people just like to retain an element of privacy, and have no problem supplying photos when and if requested.
