allthegoodnamest: I'm pretty new to this online dating malarkey. I mean what advice can you veterans give me? I've messaged twice without a reply.
As a semi-veteran of the CS International Forum community below is my advice.
1. Decide what kind of a game you are going to play here - "to score" as topic suggest some sort of team athletic activities, football, rugby, baseball, basketball.... So perhaps changing the game to cooking a well prepared meal instead
- ending with the dessert of love and passion (marriage? soul mate? sometime date?) - it's your call - the entree of email contacts of women in your area. However, read the profiles carefully first because it will say in it. You did the good thing and added your photo.
_ when you send an email, perhaps ask a question about something in the person's profile. If it reads in the profile - just here for the blogs, etc believe them and leave them alone. - send out a lot of emails and flowers and realize that it takes time to get a response and more than likely you will not get a response.
Be like the rest of us CS vets, entertain yourself in the forums and blogs until you get those responses.
Instead of begging for replies and tips from veterans ( sorry, this is how it looks like) try to be more patient. Like in real life if someone don't reply to your calls means you need to go on. That simple.

Okay, I'll give a serious reply.
When I first saw the thread, I thought he meant score as in get a woman in the bedroom... is that still true? (rhetorical question, don't answer)
Look at it like looking for a job. These days you have to send out 150 applications to "score" an interview even if your qualifications are fantastic. It's the same thing here. You have to write a lot of mails and perhaps participate in the open forums so that people get to know you. (This can be a double-edged sword). Building trust is the big hurdle on any social site.
Keep your expectations low and go on some other sites as well.

Hiya a, the advice I would give you is to read her profile and see if you actually match, re what she is looking for in regards to relationship type, age etc.
If you send someone an email like you did who is looking for a serious relationship (long-term or marriage) it probably isn't going to go down well, someone who is looking for dating or fun, you might hit the nail on the head there. Have a look at the age range they're looking for as well.
If you make a funny reply in regards to something which is on her profile, it might get you brownie points that you actually read the damn thing.
