You are almost sprinting along a canal heading to work, late AGAIN. It's the best job you've had in your life in every aspect. Your boss has given you a final warning that if you are late once more, you will be fired. As you are practically sprinting, you notice a dog drowning in the canal.
Do you stop to save the dog's life and more than likely, loose your great job/career
OR
Is your job/career more important to you that you keep sprinting and leave the drowning dog to die?

AS much as I loved that job I would save the dog.I doubt if I could've functioned all that well at work anyway knowing I just left that dog to die.
I would give up everything I have if it meant saving a life whether it be human or animal. It's just who I am.

I agree with ccincy, my conscience would overwhelm me and I agree with mollybaby, it's just a job, I can always find another one.
Animal or human, I will do whatever is in my power to save their life!
postneoludite: You call work and say you'll be late because you fell in the canal, then you save the dog.Yeah, I was the one who voted "Lies about everything"
I once saved a Richardson ground squirrel from drowning. Later, it ran right up to me, sat up on it's hind legs the way they do, and grinned at me

Yeah, boss, and right after the dog jumped in to save me, the news truck showed up and scared the dog so I wound up having to save the poor thing.
