Hi 2 int ,"The eyes have it"..... One can tell so much about a person via eye contact, they really are the windows to the soul as far as im concerned. The most attractive human feature is the eyes....Eye Think.
Obstinance_Works: Of course you can. You can read the mood they're in and the mood they're usually in, you can see an introvert or an extrovert through the eyes, you can read respect in the eyes(or lack of it), you can read another's background(sometimes), you can see whether they want to punch, kiss, laugh at or laugh with you. Are they intimidated by you? Are they hypocrites? Are they in love with you? Do they secretly hate you? What do they really think?
It's all in the eyes and it's all instinct. At street level people are obviously going to be the best at this because they have and need to have keener instincts, and these instincts become blunted and foggy with affluence and age(often the intelligent/high IQd have these same enfeebled instincts).
Lolette: 2intrigued ,,, maybe yes,, couldn't really confirm by myself as i'm not used to looking/fixing a look at someone's eyes specially at strangers, but i've heard that you can find truths by looking directly at someone's eyes, they say liars couldn't resist a direct eye to eye confrontation.
Hiya Lolette I know...our parents usually tell us when we're little not to stare at people. Of course, most people won't go out and stare at strangers but for the sake of the social experiment in the video, I thought it interesting to discuss the social aspect of it given that a lot of people seem to be preoccupied with technology and don't take enough time out to pay attention. We can gather so much about the other person if we focus not only on what their eyes are telling us but also facial expressions and body language.
KNenagh: I think it depends on the situation and the person.
When I talk to someone I will look into their eyes and I do notice that if I'm in high spirits doing my shopping etc. with a smile, I do get smiles in return.
Being too intensive with a stranger can be taken up wrong though, but being open as in smiling, not looking at the mobile all the time, engaging with people and looking in their eyes when talking does help to make a connection with people and start conversation.
Hiya KN Yes, it's that "connection" that is so important and it can make such a huge difference in relations and connecting if folks could take their eyes away from their devices long enough to smell the roses so to speak. Nah, not a good idea to stare at strangers but it's important to make eye contact while relating with others in business and pleasure.

Hiya Twazz Absolutely, the eyes are the windows to the soul. It's amazing how much we can gather about someone by simply looking into their eyes. It's really special when two people in love look intently into each others eyes.
An interesting tidbit of info for interested parties.
Monkey See - Monkey Do
The human is a social being, we are made to cooperate and communicate with each other to gain our goals. We care about others and share some bond even with complete strangers.
This is possible thanks to "mirror neurons" in our brain, aka "monkey see – monkey do" neurons. Basically, these cells become active in our brain when we see or hear an action that's happening to someone else. It enables us to feel like we're doing it or feeling it ourselves.
For Example, if you see someone get hit hard in the face, you may also recoil or touch your face as if you were hit. Of course you wouldn't feel the physical impact of the hit, but you might still feel uncomfortable and tense.
These mirror neurons gives us the ability of feeling empathy towards each other and understand how others feel only by the expression of their face or their posture. It's especially visible through the eyes.
It's quite amazing to see that we can relate to and distinguish emotions from one single gaze.
