In a good relationship she could be ever-present but never in my space. I wouldn't define a good relationship as one which gives freedom and space, you get those when you're single. Are people used to smothering or being smothered in relationships and that's why they have this preoccupation with freedom etc? It's like saying you're drug and disease free or have a GSOH, they sort of say the opposite of you.
