Patients can't get enough beer here to help medicate themselves, especially on college breaks when the students use funnels to get as much in as quickly as possible to prevent unwanted spills.

They say that moderate alcohol consumption can be good for your heart and relax you. One problem is many people can not just have one or two. And then not matter what the possible values are it is more of a menace. Even moderate drinking might not be advisable if you are on just one or more of many prescription medicines. As fun as it can be there is also a lot of people that take it too far and lose control and not only hurt themselves but also others. Personally I don't have a drink a day, but who knows, maybe that would be good for me. But for some reason it just has less the appeal with the strong laws on drinking and driving and the trade off for me just doesn't seem worth it. I think maybe if I was not alone I might be one to have a beer now and then or a glass of wine with dinner, maybe another after. But as for medicinal medicine I would say probably not a huge amount. And if I really was truthful I would probably have to say that it gets abused more than it is doing us "good". Maybe an even more progressive to current day question is to the use of Marijuana. Because in some places it is now being used legally for medicinal reasons and also for recreation. Now think of that. How many substances that are controlled by the state or country and said to be for medicinal healing or some kind of relief of pain or maybe anxiety AND also are allowed as a recreational drug? I can not think of one. So does that mean that marijuana is the alcohol of yesterday? I have no idea, but it is interesting for me as growing up it was of course illegal. Now suddenly it is something you can go get or consume in a social setting. It will be interesting where this leads.

when uncle was at the doctors off. the doc ask him if he drank much. and uncle said how much is to much? the doc said 3-4 a day. uncle said oh i drink a lot more than that. the doc said hopefully not more than a 5th. uncle said OH doc i SPILL way more than that!!!!
