If you decide to add soundproofing and also wish to record just be careful where you place it depending on what you use. I have been to places where the room had lost it's dynamics in being used to get a good recording. If you are wanting to dampen the room from others hearing you play then of course that is a bit different. I have made a few places over the years and in the last one I first made it so I was reasonably quiet from the neighbors and then added different sizes of auralex to "tune" the room. I have an acoustic Drum Kit...and a 8 pad digital midi trigger but because of the acoustic part I used some larger/deeper pieces to absorb some of the bass as well as the snare. I also added a monitor near the Drums so the drummer would still easily here everything going on as well as themselves. Thanks for Sharing!! ;-}

Its not so much wanting to dampen the sound from the rest of the house but I find the sound tends to bounce around a bit and would be nice to dampen some of it. Its a rectangular room which tends to be bad for sound reflection. Even just a couple of mats on the ceiling and walls would be good.
Good man, you don't forget about the drummer. Most set ups I seen, seems like the poor drummer gets left out lol.
Listening to it now. Did you track all this individually or? it really sounds great. I would love to put the vocals to it though I am sure you have someone a lot closer in store for that. Definitely one of my favorite songs.

The guitar is me but the rest of it was just a pre recorded backing track. I jam along with them all the time. Its not as much fun as a full band but with those tracks being digitally perfect, it improved my timing in ways I couldn't even comprehend before. Made me a better musician.

Track, did you see the movie Whiplash. If you haven't it's a must see for you. Excellent movie for someone who plays drums.
