I started about 6months ago, with my hooked bade, got rid of my weeds.
Its an area 4x12.

Putting down the mat for weeds but could of just layed wet cardboard.

Dont have much money for laying ground cover, so my friend said they have heaps of tiny wood chips.
Getting that down, and then found a big copper bowl and will put that in for a fire pit.
A farmer up the road is getting rid of old paving slabs,(I am in!)

I have 100year old roses (Lovelly smelly ones) and Hibiscus around,
Underneath I have masses of grapes they hang down from the pergola.

Went to a garage sale, got a few stone ornaments, plus a crochet
blanket? and hippy earrings.(Just Loved them. Just letting you know that I am still pursuing my project.

Sometime soon. lol

I used to have a huge garden: fruit trees and vegetables, not any more crying I had plans for having a place with a huge garden again this December but my nomad genes are Dominant that made me not to and I spent all the resources I had in going around this globe early this year and in going around again this December, so there goes my plan for my garden. grin

The good thing is that i can get fresh (always) and organic (some times) produce all year roundthumbs up

True. Travel to places with big lovely gardens and pretend they're yours and you don't have to do any of the work! . :)

sounds great!

i have no $$$$, so everything i do is found or recycled. but i like that...kind of like a game.
i've been looking for a firepit tub for three years....laugh

i did get some free pavers....still wanting more.

thought you might be interested...
my friend has ornaments in his yard. they are old colored glass bowls, vases...stacked and glued, upside down with a piece of rebar under and holding bottom piece in place. he gets the bits at garage sales.
another friend did the same thing, but puts a big bowl on top and they work as bird baths.

just an idea.....hug

For sure, having a huge garden was a lot of work that I do not miss still I would love to have a garden not huge though.

I do enjoy other gardens (nature) with not a need to feel any ownership and because of my work I do lots of travel in the country side and I have seen so many beautiful and awkward-beautiful birds that I want to learn some about them just i have not given the time to it.

thankYou 2i hug

I'll send u a couple photos from 10 minutes up the mountain.

it would be awesome if u got out here. I think the way to go (if you don't mind not having a water view) is to buy an empty lot and go modular.

and that's what I learned from this whole experience of building....lol

You're welcome Jo....any time. hug

Modular is good but then there's the matter of water, sewage and electricity hookup which could be a challenge depending on where it's located and likely would cost more bucks than I have. And, I enjoy having the convenience of being relatively close to shopping, theatres and other conveniences....yeah, I'm spoiled. laugh
