jac_the_gripper: "Everyone is wrong"

That's the kind of self-hatred which some religious people teach, in my experience.

How about, "Everyone is okay"?

"I can't live without saving someone"

What right do you have to 'save' others?

Why do you think that others aren't big enough and ugly enough to do that for themselves (one of my dad's unique expressions) in their own way? Don't they' have the right to practise as they see fit, and as you demand for yourself?

Wow you did read that ALL religious people DO NOT follow these beliefs.?
I wouldn't be able to demonstrate to you that many, many people are less .. let's
say old fashioned in their practices.Even religious people are responsive to what they experience
in their own lifetime.
Can you understand now that being confronted with antiquated stereo types
of religion make dialog difficult.I don't represent any specific affiliation and am just
asking people who don't know what religious groups do to not lump them
ALL into one great dismissal as ... idiots.Wannabe Saviours.

So sorry,Activism. But I've read many of your articulate comments.

Yes, Quoting Scripture is a huge mistake..I comprehend that much. Time and place.

ashlander: Religions are much more diverse in their practices and the only cool thing
these days is denying this fact by lumping them all together with mockery.

Religion can be agreed or disagreed on, by any living person.

It is Not discrimination to disagree at all !

My apologies, Ash, but your writing is not clear.

I did not assume all religious people thought in those ways. I assumed you thought in those ways because of the way you wrote it. dunno

I've reread it and it still looks like you were referring to your own belief system. I didn't know you were generalising about others because you didn't say you were.

Clarity is the crux of philosophical debate.

For clarifying it's a big hell no I don't think that way.
Which is why it feels so strange when people demand
that religious people have answers for everything.

Like I said ..far from perfect, prophetic or wanting
to have robotic answers for people's questions.

Never been angry about religion and I've tried
to grasp the positives from all of them.

ashlander: About acts...they not to be pretentious.or fake it till you make it.
Not acts but daily reminders, which are our prayers to be a work in progress.
We aren't ALL alike.

We don't ALL think:
Only our religion is true
Our God is true
Everyone is wrong
I can't live without saving someone

Inside each religions are different convictions, practices.
As different from each other as any two people are
in a profession,club,etc.

Guess that's been cleared up.
Anyways I also don't intend to think magically,or emotionally very often.
I enjoy humble people singing and quiet contemplation.
If I get inspiration it is from selfless acts and charity.
Not by dwelling on the end of the human race.
I'll go poof someday and never need to say
I told you so...just I love yous.

If you refuse to attempt to be clear in your communications, don't expect to be understood, or have a meaningful discussion.

BTW Mike and Jac primarily I chose the word "they" to not infer any specific orientation.
They, them and those would only be persons who intend harm against people for very specific
reasons.
As such, not certain what word suffices. And prefer no labels.
My apologies for using non-believers.Just realized somewhere I used
it for a substitute unwisely.

Can only clear it up as each person might require.I don't see any refusal. Or any intentional
confusion. He clarified it for me.Same as Molly has.

I accept any thing one has shared. If any thing good comes of this thread, those who
are only reading and not commenting might benefit as well as I have.

How one has lived spelled out like that is the only way I relate to strangers.Just
Philosophizing all day ..is not the quote the same.

Our traditions, education, government.country, work is all part of the mix.
And sports.

I would rather find a path that fits my soul, than my soul having to fit a path. One does not need to share their beliefs or religion, all you have to do is know what is right for you. If someone does ask you a question be as helpful as you can, do not assume someone lacks faith. Once you listen long enough, you might find some people have amazing beliefs, even if you cannot understand them.

Religion lends itself very well to the con of Politics.
People who feel a need to follow and have faith in something are an easy target for spin and ambition professor

Spin and Ambition ? I don't even go to the gym.
I'm working 2 jobs.

Glad the storms passed. Meant to say that to commenters in general.
