For Ireland, best chance of decent weather is spring or summer and even then you need to bring clothes for all weathers!
October - March or April even tends to be mostly wet, cold and windy, stormy even. It's changeable really.

Spring is officially February, March and April,
Summer May June July
But, weather wise, spring doesn't usually kick in until late March.
August and September, if we're lucky, can be more like summer than Autumn.
You just can't rely on it!
