We raise tomatoes. Sometimes they come back on their own. Some times we plant seeds, and sometimes we buy small tomato plants. They are yummy. Not sure if they are a vegetable.

Hello Ali, I actually love the country life. I have a small 29 acre farm in addition to my house in town. It's just a hobby farm for me, keeps me out of trouble. I raise koi, swans, and a few fancy bantam chickens. I lease part of it out for row crops. People are friendlier in the country than in the cities.Do you have any Malay or O Shamo over there?

I am unfortunately so very bad with plants. Two accompany since 20 years from home to home and do not die at my side. I don´t know why. That is touching :-)

I tried to let tomatoes grow, but they were not happy.

I want to have a farm in a few years, and I want to learn how to care for vegetables and all plants well. And I want to have a lot of animals who need to spend the rest of their lives in peace and happiness. I would rescue as much animals as I could then.

I've got an acre with fruits and veggies growing on it.

I have neighbors who come harvest my taro leaves, and cook "lau lau" for me.

I provide the leaves.

They wrap fish, pork, sweet potatoes and taro roots in them, steam them for 3 hours, and bring me the finished product.

Last week I pulled up my sweet potatoes, and tripled my taro patch.

They get all the Chinese bananas I grow too.

His wife makes da best "pateles."

Pateles are like tamales, made with green bananas, instead of corn meal.

I really enjoy growing food that my neighbors want to cook, and share with me.

I've got some sugar cane sprouting, and ready to plant. I love fresh sugar cane juice!

I've been preparing the soil to put in another breadfruit tree (as in,
The Mutiny on The Bounty).

If all you eat is one breadfruit a day, you'll be feeling strong and full of energy, like a steam engine burning coal.

Taro and breadfruit are some of the most nutritious foods you can grow.

If they'll grow in your yard, you should try them.

very good post and thank you for sharing .

I am glade u have an acre of land , do you want to make a big money with it ?

Being a farmer I have a good idea for you , plant the fast growing timber tress on the birders of your land , there should be around 700-800 tress , feed them well along with your crop , in few years your trees will produce a healthy amount of money for you .

There are some brilliant fast growing species ,you can choose couple of them according your weather / climate .wine handshake
