I try to teach them about investing, and the value of education and a good career, as does mom some. But they are both wise shoppers. Three blouses for the price of one sort of stuff. I'm hopeless here.

Teach them to shop from charity shops and flee markets, that's a clever shopping...not buying stuff they don't need...

Growing up my mother made all of my dresses etc.
She taught me life skills too.How to manage money and grocery shop.
I love going into thrift shops, rummage sales and the like and have found some pretty good bargains and sometimes I'd find new.I also stock up on markdowns.
I have found from experience buying food items that just because things are priced and if you buy in quantity doesn't always mean that it's always cheaper.Now if it happens to be things that is used a lot of then I can see it being cheaper.

My mum taught me to bargain. I buy high street brands, they last longer for me I did try other brands and it was a waste of money. I also buy what I want/need during sales. I certainly don't go shopping for the heck of it. Would much rather save my money for other things :) I shop for clothes/shoes like two or three times a year and don't buy much just a few items. I follow Oprah's rule. Get rid of something in the closet before buying more. I donate old items to charity.

I love a good bargain....I very rarely buy anything at full price if I can help it....I also like to treat myself once in awhile but I shop around to get the best price on the things that I want also....

Usual great input, all. Thanks. Well, yes, I did forget to mention that as part of mom's wise parental coaching on bargains, We all do visit emporia for once aroung clothes and other items. In fact, we have a Maine tradition of Yard/Garage sales (Marche aux Puce), Hold them to have others get nice stuff from us on the chaeap, and visit them in season. Firnished my rental units almost completely this fashion, for cents on the dollar. Also, Salvation Army and Goodwill shoppes. And pK, you are a little scary. Good that way.

I am a crafty shopper...my wardrobe (clothes and bags) is extremely expensive label wise but cost me a scratch from the price...(we don't have charity shops in Bulgaria)...I do spend good money on shoes, but I do compensate with the clothes savings...
Quality and not quantity...
Been called "scary" twice in a row is really scary...
But a nice change from "intimidating"...
