Since March 2018, she has been on antibiotics for the Herpes virus....so that she missed her annual inoculations as it cannot be given when they r sick or on antibiotics….to the effect that she now has Snuffels….one of the illnesses they r inoculated against....
Over the last couple of Months I have expected her to die a number of times, including yesterday, where she was diagnosed with the Snuffels….as she could not breathe...and her nose was totally blocked up...even after I wiped it with warm wet cotton wool...and obviously not eating at all.....and the vet was only open after 4pm and my car was in for minor repairs....I almost panicked....and was planning on walking to the vet...if I would not help her somehow....as the kids cars were not available....luckily I was in time for the vet....as I got my car back just after 5pm...and still had to drop of the driver back at the workshop....
If u care enough for the animals in ur life....they r people to u...not just any old animal...that most people could not care less about....as it is like u have a person very important to u....deadly sick....
I'm a very empathic person...that can feel other people being sick....and empathize with them....thus u feel deeply for every little bit of good and bad happening to them....that is why I could not work with sick people after school...It completely drained me....
Wish her a speedy recovery from the Snuffels….as she will have the Herpes for the rest of her life.....
So sorry. I have also experienced similar issues with my fur-kids. For some reason, people call me to bury their pets after they've died. It's hard.
I have 2 very, very old cats - they are brothers.
It's difficult when pets, especially if they are like your children or a member of the family (in which case, they are more than just "pets"), become ill.

Thanx a lot....someone that understands....yes she's 12 years old...which is quite old for a cat too...
I had a male that died at 14 years old, where someone picked him up by his tail, which made his intestines not work properly....he was on cortisone for life....which is very bad for them....but in the end I realized that he just could not anymore....he needed rest....

galrads: If you could talk to you cat I bet she’d ask to be put out of her misery.
If u read what I wrote, it says that I can FEEL her, so she talks to me without words, just feelings, and she still has a lots left in her....Thanx....Typical reaction on non-pet lovers....

He was born in my house, and loved to sleep with me; and he's purr when I wrapped my arms and legs around him. He was better than pills for easing my back pain, and helping me sleep. I had his great grandma, his grandma, I still have his mom, his son, his brother, and four of his sister's; but he's the only cat that flopped when I tossed him on my bed, and purred like a motor in my arms all night. I never had such a happy and loving cat in my life.
I only bought land, so my cats'd have a home; or I'd be living out of my canoe, with two dogs...
But he's been missing for over a month; and my neighbor told me the neighborhood dogs killed him.
I dreamt he he was in bed with me earler; and I was petting him, and telling him, how much I missed him.. I woke up happy, calling his name, telling him how much I missed him...
But, it was only a dream; and I'm still crying.
I've successfully treated respiratory illnesses in my kittens, with $12 bottles of penicillin, which I always keep in my house.
Whenever I have a sick animal, I study everything about the illness online, in the university library, and in the public library. Since most books only have a chapter or two on any problems, I can know as much or more than the average vet, in a couple hours; and I've been very successful at keeping my pets alive.
God bless your son's cat. I hope he can learn how to help it more than the vet can.

We have something in common:- Our love for animals, especially cats....
Her blocked nose and sneezing woke me up this morning, but I cleaned her nose and she ate and is purring....We'll get thru this....
aries1234: Cats have no concept of death, the just live as if it is forever, so they have no worries about mortality
There are a group of cats that live in the grounds of the hotel i go to in Cyprus, i see them twicea year and they are thriving, the hotel pays for theis injections and medical care and the guests feed them , although they earn their way mousing around the hotel. They are so independent
