One2note: I think people who use cosmetic surgery as a means of vanity , lack a certain something, whether it be a confidence issue , or a personality disorder.
was there ever a time when you colored your hair when the grey started creeping in? Got braces on your teeth for yourself or your child? Or any other number of things to help give one a fighting chance to get that job...be accepted by peers...be able to participate in life's many adventures?Is that vanity or personality disorders?
It's not all black and white and consider if your hyper critical view of others suggests a lack of self esteem on your part. ;-)

i think in some circumstance you are right.but i also personally know some folks who have had various procedures done and the confidence they derived from it was life changing.
i'm all for learning acceptance of self and others.
but if i lived in an old house that needed repair and i loved the house, i would get the repairs done to enjoy a more comfortable home.
not the same...but perhaps gives you a way to see things differently....
