I don't know how many debates and arguments I've had over my 20 years of being a Christian but I know it's too many. And every time an unbeliever placates my arguments with the usual popular and unenlightened retorts, this comes to mind:

So I guess, after having had my soul crushed by petty, insulting and ignorant arguments, I've decided to shake the dust off my feet and wash my hands of their stubborn rebellious nature.

I love to have discussions with people of different faiths. Just a few weeks ago I was talking to a Quaker and was fascinated by his beliefs. It seems to me, the core values of all religions are pretty much the same, like someone once said to me....different religions are like different staircases in the same building, they're all leading to the same place.

I know exactly what you're saying. I don't want to waste my time with someone who's only going to try and make it difficult or just wants to argue. I try to hear what God may be trying to tell me about the person or situation and whether I should speak/write or walk away. I'm not saying it's easy, and I'm not saying I get it right every time, but I'm willing to try. It's been my experience that witnessing out in the real world was much more constructive than online too.
Nowadays, brother, I'd only witness to someone willing to listen with an open mind who has interesting and engaging questions.
Those are few and far between.

Of course, my ex mother in law of 28 years is pure Irish, born in Galway and oh Gosh, I thought my mom, mix of Spanish Italian was the prayer kind, she, my ex mother in law depend more on players than anything, so I know what you mean. I didnt say I dont believe either....but I'd rather get my strength from my own life and actions.
I do everything in my power, but when my cancer (twice), was supposed to take me home, I prayed and my whole parish (six tg thousand members) prayed, that gave me strength. There's force in believing that sustains us, when after all that we do, seems not enough. That's how I feel.

Then yesterday I read about this new pill called accel ll, its responsible in creating Mitochondria, anyways, it makes us live up to 160 years old healthy.
