Is it so inherent in all of us, that we can't stop?
I for one am not an angel either, but don't follow the practice blindly either. You must use empathy and sympathy for the person, you are about to criticise. People are not even in the mood to recognise others, never mind feel for them. Then there are those with very little faults, understood by all, and is then criticised the most. These people that criticise everyone can do nothing wrong, the fault is always someone else's.
Have we got a "criticism psychosis" of immense proportions?

I critisise you not having a profile photo, or would it reveal who you really are, as many suspect

EXRED: Constructive criticism is different and given in a different way.
Yes, constructive criticism builds, and is delivered to help with no bad intentions, where the other breaks down, and the people involved loves hurting the victims!

Criticism is very necessary, for every issue has more ways to look at it. Use sympathy and empathy, also for criminals, murderers, rapists and terrorists?
Everyone makes faults and mistakes, me and you and everyone. It's good to be aware of this, for maybe next time, you won't do it again, and if you need people to tell it to you, well, that's okay.

Yes you use sympathy & empathy for everyone. Lots of criminals, etc are not guilty, then are locked up for very many years. What about them? We were all born with common sense, which will tell you if something is wrong or right according to your own discrimination levels. You do not need some people who has no end to continue criticising you, to their heart's content. If you make a mistake, it is yours, to handle, not harping on the same thing from others enjoying your predicament.

TerryBull: Yes, yes it is. It's like if someone falls for a scam, you've just gotta say don't be such a idiot man. Don't be so desperate
Your criticism is After the fact. You were not there before-hand to help him/her with the decision, so where do You get the right from to criticise? Rather stop Yourself from making the same mistakes, and stop enjoying other's!!!

Common sense does not always tell you the truth, sometimes a heuristic view is an opinion and not a real truth

"We were all born with common sense, which will tell you if something is wrong or right according to your own discrimination levels." Every person has the right to make their own decisions, and their own mistakes. You have No right to enjoy pointing it out to them!!! I guess you're the type that Always knows better, and makes the most mistakes?

I know there are many innocent people in jail, my father was convicted for something the police ordered him to do. But I also know that most of the prisoners belong in jail! Or even worse, some people just don't deserve to live, in my country we have a guy, Willem Holleeder, who once kidnapped Heineken (the beer brewer, and his chauffeur), he gave orders to kill people, he was one of the leaders of the drugsscene in my country, and now he's in court. He's been a criminal for over 40 years now, and if I was the judge I would give him a one way ticket to hell.
