There isn't a box to tick for me so I ticked that one....I can see spirit energy...feel energy plus I have other gifts and I am in tune with the universe.....
Why is it your business what spiritually means to others? If you date them ask. If you don't like their definition don't date them again. If you do not have contact with them why is it your business to judge whay they mean?

Hello Lady M..
And which box would that be? I think I can guess but...as you said...there isn't a box for it.
I can say that i can also relate with your description.

This is only a topic of conversation and is by no means judgemental.

I believe every person to be a spiritual being, it's just some are not aware of it. So maybe the question should be...Are you spiritually aware? It's difficult to image a religious person not to have a degree of spiritual awareness, whereas a spiritually aware person could have no interest in religion whatsoever. As you say, using such vague labels can indeed be misleading.

Hello Bod.
I agree that we are ALL spiritual beings only...awareness is needed.
That's why I find the box "spiritual but not religious " very misleading??
Describe Spirituality?
Are there any of the above points you can relate to?
E.g. do you revere nature? Do you meditate? Do you connect with any higher being? Do you believe in a collective consciousness? Etc...

I've seen and heard many different definitions of the word spirituality, a word I'm not too comfortable with btw. I think it conjures up the wrong image and sends out misleading messages. But, in all the definitions I've come across, there is one simple definition that I think is closest to the mark....
number 5 is the one i seem to contemplate most, and i also think if one decides that spiritual paths are calling them, they can feel an energy world that means more than the physical one.

Hello Marlin..
No 5? Hmmm...yes...for me too. There comes a time when we're asking ourselves lots of questions such as.. Where do I come from? What am I doing here? Where do I go from here? Etc.. Then comes "Awareness" as Bodleing suggests..?

The Truth
I agree that the word Spirituality often sends the wrong message.

I find this description very vague, and possibly misleading.
So, how exactly do you define being spiritual?
Here below are a few examples of the things that I have heard makes a person spiritual (alone or in combination).
1. Does a “Spiritual” person believe in a “God/Creator” or a version thereof?
2..Do they believe in “Heaven & Hell”?
3. Do they believe in Karma and Reincarnation?
4. Have they heard a “spiritual” call and do they have a burning desire to walk a “Spiritual” Path?
5. Do they ponder over the Universe and Humanity´s place in it?
6. Do they revere the environment and all creatures on earth?
7. Do they do good deeds for society, donate to charities, do volunteer work etc (mostly anonymously) without being attached to the results?
8. Or many other virtuous things?
The list above should not be regarded as “red herrings” which “must” be pursued. They are only suggestions/prompts.
